Hi, Im 14yr old guy and only 5'0.... ok my parents are kinda short.. like 5'4 + 5'2. My brother on the other hand is 6'0. I was wondering what excersies will increase my height? I jump a lot a day, and i do stretches by stretching out my legs and useing my hands to reach my toes (BUT im not sure if thats an effective stretch?). And I was also wondering if running would help me a lot?

Grow Time

Your height is affected by some kind of gland in your brain that releases hormones to increase leg growth. If you really want to grow bigger, consult your doctor about taking pills to help you. I'm not sure if they will allow it. There is a dangerous surgery where they stick six-eight metal tubes inside your bone. You tune them to however height you want but you may become handicapped..so I don't think its worth it. I'm 5 ft too!!!! lol. Well. my mom believes basketball increases height(not true) it may only do one or two inches. All I can say to help is drink a lot of calcium rich items...and vitamin D!

For one, no excerise will increase your overall height. Streches that decrease bone compression are only temporary due to gravity. It's a miracle that your brother is 6'0", I would expect to be as tall as he is if I were you(sorry to get your hopes up). And lastly, nothing except homormones natural or not are the only thing that will make you grow.

Sigh... sadly it seems that I've stopped growing. Well, I guess my height isn't short or anything, but I was hoping to grow another inch or two. I'm 16, 5'11" and I'm 155 pounds. I've lost weight since last year (been alot more active than I used to be), but my height hasn't increased more than about 1/2 - 1 cm since then. One of my grandpa's is about 6'2" and two of my three uncles are about 6'2" (mom's side). On my dad's side, he's just short of 6'1", one of my aunts is about 5'8", and my grandma is about 5'10". There's no one in my family who's really short (not that I think that I'm short).Don't ask me why, but most people in my family seemed to think I'd be about 6'1" or 6'2". I guess that just what I sort of expected, lol.

I am in college and I am still growing. You should all consider yourself done when you close in on my age of 19. When you get to 19 you are closing in on being done, but you could still grow and I am :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
