Enlaraged epididymis...?

It's a variocele. I really doubt that your testicle has shrunk in the short time you have had this problem. The mushy swollem epidydimis you think you are feeling is probably just the swollen veins.

thanks i been up thinkin my balls r gonna fall off..lol..Ill probs be off to the docters teusday. But i felt the Viens before when it hurt bad. it feels..like the epididymis is like a heavy sack and is waying down the testicle so it points upwards more than the right one. (if that makes sense.. and the viens are connected to the mushy part

In reply to:like the epididymis is like a heavy sack and is waying down the testicle so it points upwards more than the right one. (if that makes sense.. and the viens are connected to the mushy part Yeah, that's a varicocele - I know, I had one. The reason why it feels like the veins are all connected, is the veins are bundled together in a conduit with your vas deferens, arteries, nerves, etc. in what is called the spermatic cord. The epidydimis comes off of the back of the testicle and merges into a single tube, the vas deferens, which gets bundled in the spermatic cord as it heads into your body. When the veins get swollen from a varicocele in the spermatic cord, its hard to differentiate the veins from the epidydimis, since they both feel like mushy tubes. If you suspect your testicle has shrunk in size (a common issue with varicoceles), and the varicocele is bothering you often, then I would see a doctor to have have it examined, and discuss what options you have to fix it (usually surgery).

hmmmm, i wonder what might have cause this.. do u kno why Varicocele's happen? ..and wen i go to the docter if i say i think i have like a Varicocele vien wot will he do? I dont wanna go there and i kno that im 99% sure and both say i have 1. Then end up him havin to give me STD tests wen i kno i dont have any STDS because me and my partner were both Virgins and she hadnt even kissed anyone before me (been with her 10months now) and that i dont have an STD to start with.

If you can get by the medical terminology, all your answers are here.Various theories have been proposed to explain the cause of a varicocele in light of the fact that 90% of all varicoceles are left-sided. These include the following: Congenital absence of the valves in the left testicular vein, which normally prevent retrograde flow of blood in the upright position: Anomalous branches may also bypass the valves. Variations in venous drainage of the testis: Usually, an asymmetrical pattern exists, with the right testicular vein draining directly into the inferior vena cava and the left testicular vein inserting at a right angle into the left renal vein. This pattern predisposes to slower drainage in the left testicular vein. The "nutcracker" phenomenon: The left testicular vein may sometimes be compressed between the superior mesenteric artery and the aorta. Increased length of the left testicular vein: The left vein is 8-10 cm longer than the right testicular vein. http://www.emedicine.com/ped/topic2806.htmhttp://www.emedicine.com/med/topic2757.htm

Basically what sdp listed is saying that there's nothing you could have done to prevent a varicocele, and there's nothing that you did that caused a varicocele to form. They just happen in about 15% of us. It most likely is caused by faulty or missing valves in the left veins of the testicles, which is something you're born with.
