Funny ass story
-
Take a chill pill dude. And I agree, it wasn't funny.
-
Since this post keeps going on, I'll add in my however many cents. I'm not trying to sound stereotypical, but some of you jocks really need to grow up. Some jocks are fine, but a lot of you are.........immature.
-
How is it that just jocks are immature?
-
I'll give it to you straight forward while trying not to sound too harsh. Remember that this applies to some, not all, jocks. They're rude, excessively close-minded, they think the world exists as they're playground, they don't care about anyone else, and they're really really obnoxious.
-
if sombody did that to me, i would have beat the living shit out of them. And man thats more nasty rather than funny.
Some jocks at my school mostly upperclassmen football jocks are assholes. The upperclassmen football jocks are the ones that think that the rules dont apply to them, and think that they can slide in education.
-
But i know nerds who are obnoxious and loud and all that good stuff, all im trying to say is that there are all kinds of people like that not just ones who play sports
-
Yes i do know some upperclassmen that are dicks but all upperclassmen are like that its just how it is. And at my school its totaly opposite with the grades most of our jocks are 3.5 gpa and above

In reply to: A jock and a nerd? You fool, they cannot mix!!!!! I'm also a jock and a nerd. I've always played a lot of sports and I engage in all the usual sort of jock humour (thought the story was mildly amusing) but also currently working towards my masters in Physics (well, actually I'm currently working on a building site but the masters is on-going).

you say you had nothing to do with it, but you found it funny..right? that's just as bad. And also you said "WE" told him, we reffering to you and your friends, that right there states you had something to do with it. You were full willing to take credit for the story and for what happend, being a proud son of a bitch, until you read more posts and realized..no one (err hardly anyone) found it funny, just gross, and felt sorry for the poor kid.And secondly...going to a public school myself, and being on the other side of the spectrum (Non-jock) But I have noticed, as someone mentioned it's not all jocks. but it's jocks like YOU that give all jocks the bad name as being a jack ass and not caring. And I can see it now..your next post will be "you don't know me bitch! you don't know me!" Yeah that's right, I don't know you, and thank the lord for that! But none the less, the fact that you found this degratiing act amusing enough to post just tells me right there you are a sterotypical jock. Ahh..thats all I got for right now....> Amanda

It's strange, I wouldn't really consider myself to be a jock, but I spend a ton of time playing sports: cross country, track, fencing, swimming, skiing/boarding, etc. The idea that people who play sports are loud, obnoxious, and rude is stupid. I know more of those kinds of people who don't play sports than who do. The problem with people who make those stereotypes is that they often don't join sports teams, and get the chance to see that the majority of people on them are usually either nice, outgoing, or both. Personally, I'm kind of shy and a bit of a klutz in public, but I spend a large amount of time doing after school sports and others on my own time. I also am in music class and our school's jazz band (extracurricular), play some video games (not so much anymore, but still occasionally), and have honours in school. Does that make me a nerd? Wait, I thought nerds can't be jocks and vice versa.Sport are awesome. I don't play much football, but it's awesome and a couple very good friends of mine play football. One of them is going into gr. 12 and has his Master's Degree in Meteorology. He fits the jock personality only in the way that he's a loud and occasionally obnoxious and plays sports, although usually he's a nice person and is one of the best guys I know for just chilling out with. He's a friend who I trust enough to talk about anything with him, and I don't know too many people like that. Tell me how a person like that is a dumb jock, because if you saw him, you would no doubt label him as a jock right from the beginning. Ask me about a few of my other friends or more about me if you're not convinced that jocks don't have to fit the stereotype.Stereotypes are overrated

> gr. 12 and has his Master's Degree
He already has a master's degree? Is that different terminology than what's normally used for the university degree?
Things get a little more complicated when you're talking about big-school college varsity football and basketball teams, not to mention professional teams. I don't know about now, but until recently a lot of the players were on steroids, which probably made them more aggressive. Some people who are strong, aggressive, big, and coordinated gravitate toward sports. And not all of them are scholars; some are frustrated by the environment at a university. And athletes at big schools are often given a lot of lattitude in their behavior. Sometimes they develop a sense of entitlement.
That certainly does not apply to all athletes, but the ones who take advantage of their fortunate position don't do much good for the image of the rest.
In junior high school and high school, I knew some of the football and soccer players, and they were fine, intelligent, talented, nice, considerate people. In fact, one of them turned pro for a couple of seasons (Denver Broncos). So I definitely don't mean to smear all athletes. But in big college varsity athletics, it can get pretty weird.

It's a regular master's degree in meteorology. It's amazing, he started sometime back in junior high. He got into it because he was, and still is, a pilot. Meteorology, the study of weather basically, is very useful to have in being a pilot. That's right, he's going into grade 12, a pilot, and has a master's in meteorology. He's an amazing guy. It's a little more complicated in how he got the degree, because in order to get into the course and get to the point he's at at his age he needed to know someone who could get him in to the program at the university (which he did).
