What are the funniest movies you've seen? Hot Shots and the Naked Gun trilogy always crack me up.

Funniest Movies You've Seen?

Those are hilarious. I always liked Blazing Saddles, Mel Brooks is so funny. And Robin Hood: Men In Tights
I wasn't a big fan of Space Balls though...
-
I love the scary movie films........
-
And don't forget Young Frankenstein.Woody Alan made some movies that were very funny (and not excessively cerebral). My favorites are Sleeper (the "orb" and the "orgasmatron" booth...cloning the dictator from his nose, the only part left after a serious accident) and Take the Money and Run (pseudo-documentary about a nebbish who turned to crime--the idea of using an insurance agent as a prison torture device was pretty hilarious).

I liked the first one, the second just seemed weird, but the third was brilliant! Directed by the guy who did the Aeroplane movies!
And Leslie Nielson did the bit where he walks into the room and says, "Good luck, we're all counting on you" That was so funny.

Space Balls, Naked Gun, Hot Shots, Scary Movie Series, Super Troops, Austin Powers Series, South Park, Basketball, etc...
-
Basketball? Even Trey and Matt admit that that was a terrible movie. Although I kind of liked the psyche-out thing.

Raising Arizona, O Brother Where Art Thou, Arsenic and Old Lace

The Hot Chick and Meet the Parents

In reply to:"The Hot Chick and Meet the ParentsThese are the funniest films you've seen? Have you seen any movies more than a couple of years old?Damien, you mentioned Raising Arizona and O Brother Where Art Thou. It's really weird that you mentioned these two together. My friend, who knows that I like offbeat stuff, told me to see Raising Arizona. It was great. Recently he told me that I need to see O Brother..., so I guess I'll have to.And what about the Monty Python movies, especially Holy Grail? I was too young the first time I saw it...didn't get it. But when I saw it later I almost fell out of my chair ("She turned me into a newt!" "We are the knights who say 'ni'." Brave sir Robin. Coconuts instead of horses. All that stuff.)

In reply to: My friend, who knows that I like offbeat stuff, told me to see Raising Arizona. It was great. Recently he told me that I need to see O Brother..., so I guess I'll have to. Of course you know these are both Coen brother films. I'm a huge fan of the brothas. (Although they did a couple that were less than spectacular, like 'Intolerable Cruelty'). If you like those two you need to see 'Fargo' if you haven't already. In reply to: And what about the Monty Python movies, especially Holy Grail? I can't believe I forgot to mention that one. Funny, the first time I saw it I fell asleep. It took me a couple of times to get it. Now it's one of my favorites. I also love 'The Life of Brian'.

Saving SilvermanAmerican PieHarold and Kumar go to WhitecastleSay it Ain't So.

the Coens are greatBelieve it or not, the South Park movie brought me to tears. The global musical production of "Kyle's mom is a big fat bitch" did me in.Last night, I saw "Shaun of the Dead" THAT was brillient!!!
-
I thought Fargo was great....I actually saw it when it first came out. Frances Dormand [sp?] was fantastic. One of my criteria for a good film is, after I see it, do I remember anything about it? Things like Holy Grail and Life of Brian have lots of memorable scenes.

In reply to: Hi guys! I'm new and wanted to say hello... Welcome to the mad house, great to meet ya hugs

THE OUT-OF-TOWNERSDirector: Arthur HillerCast: Sandy Dennis, Jack Lemmon(Paramount, 1970) Rated: GMy parents took me to see it when I was little...even then I thought it was funy. No one could play a victim like Jack Lemon, and Sandy Dennis was perfect for the frazzled wife character.
