I dunno what forum this belongs in, but please, can anyone help me? I'm 15, and going through a rough time right now. See, I liked a girl for over a year. Then finally, I asked her to Winter Formal. We had a good time, she danced mainly with me, but she did dance with other guys too. I was elated, it was the first time I'd ever danced with a girl cuz I'm kinda shy. But anyways, after that, we talked almost daily. She'd laugh at almost anything I said, and I thought she was flirting with me. I've had many fantasies about this girl, I think I really do love her. She's hot, smart, funny, and a fun person to be around. So Friday, I asked her out. She said "I'm sorry, I don't really wanna date anybody right now. It's too close to summer." I thought that initial comment about the summer was just a bad excuse, but she had actually told someone else that's what she was gonna tell me cuz she didn't want a boyfriend over the summer. So this week, she's kinda acted normal to me. In English, the only class I have with her, it was normal. She giggles, laughs, smiles at me, talks a little, and does weird little flirty things that I guess I've been misreading. But then when we talk, one on one, she's cold and distant. She doesn't say much and then kinda tries to get out of it. Granted, this is on AIM, so she just puts up an Away Message. I dunno what to do. How should I handle this. I want this girl so bad. My friend Ashton told me I should get a group of our mutual friends together to go the movies a few times and have her sit by me every time. She told someone else that I was her friend and that's really all she wanted. I like being her friend, but I wanna be more. What should I do?

Sounds like you're in a tough situation. Maybe she is telling you the truth. She likes you, but she doesn't want to get involve with you. She probably fears this relationship straining on your friendship. Because why ruin a good thing with a relationship that may not work out? In my opinion she seems to love you but she's holding herself back. If you really like her, standby her and let her know from time to time you still love her. If you don't wanna waste your time...I suggest just leave and go have more fun with other people.

She may just be confused, and not know whether she really likes you or not. Obviously you shouldn't pressure her into any sort of relationship, that would just drive her away. However, I would suggest not giving up completely. My boyfriend liked me for three years in high school, but I wasn't sure I felt that way about him, and didn't want a relationship. However, he was persistent and because of that, we are together today. So don't give up completely, but also don't sit around waiting just for her, if someone else comes along.
