Depressed and lost sex drive

well when that happened to me, it was only anti-depressants that helped hon, so I really don 't know, why are you against them anyway???

Depression can cause loss of sex drive. SSRIs (Prozac, Paxil, etc.) can also interfere with sex drive, and ability to have orgasms. But the up side of SSRIs (not feeling depressed) usually far outweighs the side effects.

Hello
why are you unhappy? (if u don mind sharing it with us). married with a lotta kids, id love to be in your shoes! but im not married, not even close, so maybe i dont know the stress that comes with it...
*in my opinion* drugs only help if YOU are the cause of the problem, if your environment or people around you are bringing you down then theres no point cuz drugs dont get rid of the negative elements around you, and everyone ive said this to agrees with me

I assume by "...if you are the problem..." you mean "...if you have a chemical imbalance...". The fact is that antidepressants often work when depression is caused by stressful events. I've seen it with my own eyes. Perhaps there was an underlying physical issue that was triggered by the stress caused by the events. In some cases, there is not really anything to "fix"...time alone does the healing (as is often the case in grieving). In any case, I don't know why the original poster is so dead set against antidepressants. I think he should discuss the matter with his doctor, with a more open mind. But of course you want to deal with the underlying events. But SSRIs can allow a person to function while he's trying to fix the problems. Sometimes
