I know girls who are usually dirty/unshaved are more likely to smell down there, but how do you know if you do or not? Especially if you're no sexually active? Are girls usually unaware that they smell? Whats the best way to prevent from having bad odor down there?

Smelly Vagina?

Why do you think girls who are unshaved are dirty and smelly?
-
Thats what I heard, not all of them, but it's more likely.
-
Oh sorry, I didnt mean girls who are unshaved ARE dirty, I just heard girls who dont shave are more likely to have a stronger odor.
-
That's not true.

In reply to: Whats the best way to prevent from having bad odor down there? hygene is #1, just like with guys. Live culture yogurt can help if it's more body chemistry related. (eating it, I mean)

I have no vagina to shave or not shave, but one theoretical reason for the existence of pubic hair is to capture the fragrance of the stuff exuded by the glands in the area. Mammals have evolved to be attracted by such scents, and humans are mammals. Bathing every day defeats that idea, and leaves little detectable odor behind. In any case, I don't think pubic hair is the main source of odor.

Yep, odors are there. They change with your cycle, whether or not you have sex, and even smells different from different partners. The ones that are really offensive, are caused from infections, and you WILL smell it!

How do you know if you smell or not?
Touch your vagina with a clean hand for like 30 seconds or so, then smell your hand.
The best way to prevent from having bad odor down there is to wash everyday. Use a mild soap, preferably unperfumed. Wash between all the folds and under the clitoris hood. Use one or two fingers to wash the inside of your vagina also. Don't use soap there unless after sex and rince well.
Use a clean towel to dry.
And wash your butthole well also! Too many girls ignore that part. -
lol actually pubic hair is there to contain the smells.
