I'm just wondering if anyone can help with my dilemma. I'm not very tech savvy so this might be simplistic (all thoug I do know basic computer stuff).
I want to be able to import video clips into power point for presentations that I do. I know how to do that if they are on my hard drive. But I also need to be able to pull clips from DVD's. A friend of mine told me to buy Dazzle. He said I would be able to rip dvds from external dvd players with the hardware included, or I could just use the Studio 9 software included to rip dvd clips from my laptop's dvd player.
So I bought the program and find out that first of all, the hardware doesn't work becaue my USB port is only 1.1 (which is strange for a new laptop, no?) I also discovered that Studio 9 won't rip DVD's. I have to use a dvd ripper program and then Studio 9 will edit them. So I downloaded DVD Decrypter. The problem with it is that the clips are stored as IFO and some other strange files. So I downloaded DVD to VCD AVI DIVx Converter and I can't get it to work.
So, my question...how can I rip clips from dvds (don't need the entire movie) onto my hard drive in a form that Studio 9 will recognize.
And keep in mind I'm not hip to all the space-age-whiz-kid language.
Thanks.
