Here is my problem, when I have a BM, the thing is HUGE. So big that it breaks the skin on my anus and i bleed and it causes me great pain (sometimes more than others). The bigger problem is that I have tryed eating more fiber, drinking an ton of water, and just going more often, but that doesnt help. So I gave that up. Then several months later, I started having normal sized BM's and every thing is fine, but then 2 or 3 months later they are giant again. This cycle has been happening for 2 or 3 years now, and I cant find any patterns at all with what i eat or do or my health. I am tired of this and I hope one of you all can help.

I cant figure it out

Ok, maybe the question part wasn't understood. My question is, "Is there anyone here that may have an idea as to what the problem is, something I can do about it that I haven't tried, or even something I have tried?"

If you know you're otherwise in good health, have had a check up, and there still seems to be no reason for your difficulty, try a mild stool softener when things get "big" (i.e., when you become constipated). Metamucil or some other source of fiber is a good start. There's also tastelss powdered fiber in a can that you can add to drinks...and it won't cause gas. If that doesn't work (as you've implied), try a low dose of milk of magnesia and see if that helps. Take it as long as you need it, BUT FOLLOW LABEL OR DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS.
>> Stool softener info << (This is a commercial Web site. I know nothing about the product they are selling.)
Colace is another stool softner. If you're really having problems, though, I'd recommend a referral to a gastroenterologist.

Thanks for your reply. When I said "more fiber" I was thinking of my eating whole wheat bread more often (every day) instead of not at all. sorry about that confustion. Does metamucil cause gas?

Yes, it can. Try this, it won't: Benefiber. There are also other fiber supplements that don't cause gas.You can just add Benefiber to your food...it's tasteless.Whole wheat and multigrain breads are also a good source of fiber. So is fruit, and it has other health benefits. And nuts are good, if they don't bother your digstive system (but the have a fair amount of calories).
