-
okay so i cannot focus...I moved onto traffic Jam with Stevie Ray Vaughn
-
Interesting, how long have you been playing dude? They are semi difficult songs, nice job . Although Im not much of a Metallica fan I went through a phase where I was really into them.. when I was about 12 maybe. Yeah, the songs are pretty nice. Not the hardest of their songs but certainly not simple.
-
i have been playing for about 2 months, but i have only put maybe 50-60 hours in actually playing in those 2 months
-
Good for you, Walken! How about a trio?Have you tried playing an acoustic yet? I think you'd dig it.Once again, kudos!
-
yep got an acoustic, but i broke the A string, oops. I need to get a new one, but the nearest store is quite a while away, and i am going to wait until i get home (1 and half months).
-
Nice man, I suggest hooking up with friends you have that play any instruments, when starting out jamming with people really helps with confidence and timing. Aswell its fun and you can learn from eachother.
-
Absolutely! You will progress much faster if you jam with others.
-
i used to play a Metallica medoly where I connected a bunch of simmilar rifs together to make fun of them (S&D being one of them)That said, good for you Walken, keep it up. I've unfortunately let my playing go by the wayside
-
Great Job Walken! Good luck with sticking to it...Music can be such a great way to relax!
-
In reply to:yep got an acoustic, but i broke the A string, oops. Anybody make a stupid G-string joke and I kill you!
-
oh geez, thanks for the heads up!!
-
I am working on the Call of Ktulu (instrumental) off metallica's Ride the Lightning album.
-
Are you also doing things like practicing scales and chords? And exercises to make you fingers move faster?
-
I know some chords....A, Am, D, G, C, F, E, Em, A7, and a few others just on the other ones do not the name of the chords...lol...i am actually trying to learn the notes on the neck...I really do not seem guidance b/c i have no idea what i should be doing...so if anyone wants to help PM me and I will appreciate it.
-
If you can do an F, you're in pretty good shape. Can you do barre chords?
You ought to go to the music or book store and get a practice book. It'll have drills on scales and chord chages. You need to learn things like the major and pentatonic scales as a start. The idea is to get to know this stuff without having to think about where your fingers are going.
-
yeah barre cords are very easy...
