I just started doing some exciersises this week. I don't use weights though. I do pushups, situps, and squats. I also do stretches. I just want to know if this is even doing anything for me? I am not trying to get huge just look a little more fit (which wont take much at all) I really just want, pecks, and abs, also lose weight in thighs and butt. Now I'm not looking to be huge, I just want to know if I'm wasting my time. Will pushups help with my pecks, situps with abs (remeber not ripped abs). I fell my workout when i'm done and the next day as well, and i feel a lot better, like i'm doing something right. Please let me know if I'm wasting my time.

You're not wasting your time but eventually you're are going to have a certain "tolerance" if you will to the push ups. You should consider lifting because that plus cardio will help you lose weight.

you are not wasting your time, sorry foozballing. what you are doing sounds very close to endurance training, wich will burn fat, and build a certain amount of muscle. it will not make you Arnold Schwarzinager, but it will take any flub you have away. just be sure to up the reps when you start to get comfortable with a certain number. try different techniques and styles as well. if you want, a good way to do pushups or situps with some extra weight is to carry a book on top of your back, or hold it by your chest when doing your excercises. keep up the good work.

Cool, I have been feeling like I can do more and more each day. When I first started doing pushups it was hard to do 5. Now I can do 10, and soon enough 15, then 20. And I do 4 or 5 reps as well. Will I get pecks from pushups? Also I feel the burning in my legs but never my arse (lol sounds funny), is that normal, I mean I can tell it works when i feel some muscle pain, but i feel nothing only in my legs. Anyway thanks for the replys, now I know i'm doing something right I am feeling a lot better.

In reply to: Cool, I have been feeling like I can do more and more each day Thats good, thats exactly what you wand to feel. As far as the pain, some areas may be more trained than others. i know with me my legs are very strong so i rarely feel a burn, but my arms hurt like hell sometimes. Basically when a body part becomes used to it u need to increase the workout to that area. When ur used to regular pushups do more or change up to different types of pushups. And you can definetely build without usin weights.

Problem with pushups is i'm in my room doing them which is small. Sometimes it's hard to do 5, others times I can do 10. I think it's that I'm not in the right possision.

After a certain point you need to let your muscles rest. Your not really doing any strenous lifting but I'd recommend you take a rest day every 7 to 10 days.
