I have recently found something new and it bothers me as I don't know what it is. It's like a thick tendon running the length of my old man from base to tip, just beneath the skin. It's hard like grissle and tight so that I can see it when I get an erection. It's no bother, except I don't know what it is, it's new and I'd rather keep things just the way they are.If anyone could help explain what this is before I see the doctor, that would be great.

What is it?

Are you referring to the one along the bottom of your penis? If so we all have that, and it completely normal. However, if it's somwhere else....you might have a problem.
-
No, this is on top, just right of center. I've never seen it before.
-
It's just something that holds the 2 halves of the Corpora Cavernosa together.

There is also a tendon that runs along the top of the shaft, which is usually more noticeable near the base. This tendon connects to the PC muscle inside the body, and when you contract your PC muscle, this tendon is what causes your penis to move up and down when you contract it. This tendon (if tight) is also what causes erections to point upwards.

I think I should go see the doctor, it is too difficult to explain through a keyboard. I'll let you all know the outcome.
I really hate any additional, unexplained extras to my manhood, I was very happy with it just the way it was.

You'll find that is no big deal and normal.
