Are there any... symptoms of it? Other than pain and/or finding a lump in your testicle? And if there is a lump in the testicle, what else could it be?

Testicular Cancer
-
Testicles usually don't develop other lumps on the testicle itself. Here's basically the possibilities:1 - The epididymis, located on the backside, and top and bottom of the testicle, can sometimes feel like a soft lump attached to the testicle, but not on the surface itself. This is normal, and should be ignored.2 - A lump which could be a benign testicular cyst and nothing to worry about. These are very rare though. 3 - A lump which is cancerous and a major problem. The issue is only a doctor can tell the difference between number 2 & 3. So basically if you're feeling a lump on your testicle that is not the epididymis, you NEED to have a doctor check it out to make sure its not cancer. And if you're not sure if its the epididymis you're feeling, you still need to go to the doctor to make sure.

well stated 'f'
I had a painful lump im my right epididmus. Turned out to be from a fall -
I've had a lump on my right testicle since I was 11, I'm 16 now. I never told my parents to take me to the doctor cuz I was scared to tell them, still am.
But none of the symptopms described are happening to me. Some days, it just hurts, barely. And I dunno if it's connected, but, a part of my stomach on the right side hurts if I've been standing too long or am in a weird position...

is it on your teticle or on your scrotum? Either way, if it bothers you, get it checked.

You haven't been to a doctor since probably before you started puberty until now, five years later? You ought to get a check up. You can discuss things with the doctor that you don't feel comfortable discussing with your parents.

I agree with SteveA. Go see a doctor about this. Pain is usually your body telling you there's something wrong. While overall rare, testicular cancer is the most common cancer in guys during the teens and twenties. It's also the easiest to detect early and to catch and treat early. While your lump and pain may be nothing, it could be a major problem. We can't tell you one way or the other here - only a doctor can after examining you. Don't worry about being embarrassed seeing a doctor and having him check your equipment out, etc. You don't have anything he hasn't seen many times before. Doctors are human too - every doctor has gone through puberty before, just like you are, and every male doctor has a penis too, just like you do. So, there's nothing to be embarrassed about. You have nothing to lose by going: if everything is fine, then you'll have the peace of mind that everything is OK and you won't have to worry anymore. If there's a problem, chances are they'll be able to treat you and fix the problem, and it could save your life. So go see your doctor!

It actually will be very weird. My parents never take me to the doctor unless it's an emergency. I've NEVER had a physical. So, if I want to talk to the doctor about it, I have to tell my parents first, so out goes the whole "You can talk to your doctor about things you don't feel comfortable talking about with your parents" dealy. Also, the lump is on my testicle, not on my scrotum. And it will be weird because... well... you all saw my circumcision thread. It's a loose circumcision only on one side, the underside... it looks verrry weird. And I'm embarassed by that.

In reply to:My parents never take me to the doctor unless it's an emergency. I've NEVER had a physical. That's not very enlightened of them.If you have testicular cancer, you have two choices: see a doctor and get treated (and your parents will find out), or die a horrible, painful death. They'll find out anyway. You need to understand that as a teenager, which I presume you are, you have a certain way of looking at the world, and your parents, who are adults, have another way. They don't care about your penis any more than they care about your elbow. I'm sure they just want you to be healthy. The chance that you have cancer is very slim, but you need to get yourself checked out. Trust me, your parents won't keel over dead if you tell them you need to have the doctor check out your problem.Or just tell them you have a sore throat.

You could take the opportunity to ask about the circumcision at the same time. It's embarrassing, yes, but it's like the pain of having an injection - you go through it for the good you get out of it.

Never heard of a split testicle. It means you should see your doctor.
