I was listening to a morning talk show on my way to work and they said that there is some new strand of HIV/AIDS. It's been seen in a small group of people so far and it's not responding to treatment. Also, they said it moves rapidly. Like instead of (for example) living 10 years with the disease you would only live 1 year.Has anyone heard of this?

New strand of HIV/AIDS??
-
Scary!! This is what our kids get to look forward to living with. The HIV/AIDS virus changes rapidly anyway, and now with all the treatments, somehow it doesn't suprise me, just saddens me.
-
It it not just AIDS; drug resistant strains of other STDs are becoming more common.
-
Keep \`em comming . I\`m tired of all the "I forgot the condom" or "It feels better without". Ok, feel better with AIDS
-
well , after some time , they all will die so we`ll get rid of hiv/aids
-
Er, no, people with HIV stay quite healthy for quite a long time, and can pass it on to other people, who pass it on to others, and so on.It's not in a virus's interests to kill an infected host before it can be transmitted further. The best hope is a vaccine that stops it spreading, and that can be given to everyone. Smallpox has been eliminated that way, and they hope to do the same with polio soon.
