At exactly what age is it safe to begin taking creatine? im 15 and i was just wondering. what evactly is creatine anyways. its supposed to be a safe steriod isnt it?

Im 14 and i take it, but you workout right(because if you dont workout theres no point in using it), and creatine is natural so i would say its safe. Im not a expert or nothing lol. And from what i know the creatine puts water in your muscles which makes then bigger and you get stronger, but if you take it make sure you drink alot of water because it can dehydrate(spelling?) you.

Creatine is not natural! It is only natural in food, not in lab made powder. And it can harm you digestive organ if taken wrong. I would pass untill I was older if I was you.

If its a steriod DONT TAKE IT. I just did a small report on steriods and they will ruin your life.

Could you explain to us why you think creatine, an amino acid that has an anabolic effect, might be a steroid? Might you have done a little research before posting? No, I guess not.

and i would recomend against a protien supplement. if its not in your body naturally, IT SHOULDNT BE THERE.
protien supplements do nothing but give you too much protien, all you need is about 50 - 60g a day of protien, all extra is wasted and can cause complications like heart problems and premature aging (and yes, that is proven).

There is research that shows that high dietary protein intake stresses the kidneys (and probably liver), but the type of protein may make a difference (i.e., a lot of meat protein is bad, but whey protein is good). You can take it at 15 as long as you drink lots of water. Creatine is NOT a steriod & doesnt even resemble the effects of steriods. Whoever said "i just did a search & steriods ruin your life" made me realize just how ignorant the general public is on steriod usage. I wont go into that issue right now though.
Creatine is not a steriod nor is it as potentially harmful if abused. It can be sold over the counter & you can find it & pretty much any fitness store. Creatine replenishs ATP levels and causes water retention. That allows you to be more comfortable while you lift & allows your muscles to recover at a much quicker rate.
If you're on a steady lifting schedule, go right ahead & start taking creatine. Just be sure to follow the directions on the label. Throw in some protein shakes & you'll be well on your way!

ok guys for one there has been no long term test on creatine so you could be shooting your self in the foot. Creatine causes you to retain water, so you get water pockets in your body and once you stop you'll lose size fast. if your ina sport that relys on running or cardiovascular fitness more than strength this stuff is no good for you. Causes cramps and extra water weight. I've taken the powder and the liquid creatin and I noticed increase in size but my strength increases weren't any different then when I just ate healthy and worked out hard. if you want to get bigger eat alot, 5 meals a day mix of meats and carbs.Protein shakes aren't worth a dime, if you eat healthy your going to get the protein you need. Taking a shake with 20 grams of protein or whatever is just hard on your kidneys, your going to piss it out and not use any of it. You can use more than your body needs when it comes to protein.
