i dont know how long its been going on for, but recently i noticed my front teeth have an with an almost see-thru appearance. the front teeth that are not see-thru are not real. i break two teeth and their replacement teeth are not natural, so they do not have that see-thru appearance that my natural teeth have. i never tried any of that teeth-whitening bleach stuff, because i did hear u get transparent teeth if u use those things. is this caused by some type of deficiency? i am 17 male. thanks

Transparent teeth?
-
a lack of calcium can cause teeth and bone problems?
-
ive been taking supplements lately
-
What supplements have you been taking?
-
When was the last time you went to a dentist?
-
january or february and ill be going there again in two days
-
to get the transparent edges off my teeth i have been takin calcium supplements and multivitamins. right now i am taking calcium dietary supplement with vitamin d and other minerals. it has 600 mg calcium(60% of daily value). will taking this supplement get rid of the transparent edges?
-
I really doubt you can do anything to change the "transparency" of your teeth.

:frowning:

why not ask the dentist if there is anything you can do, lets face it none of us are dentists (ok so some could be, and some might like to pretend to be for their own sick and twisted desires! ) he, or she, is the one to ask, i read somewhere about having vaneers put on your teeth, tho i would think thats classed as plastic surgery and hence expensive, but it you don't ask you won't know
-
i am going to the dentist for replacements for some broken teeth but i will ask the dentist about that.thanks
-
Veneers are very expensive. Any dentist worth his/her money will will not mess with your (healthy)teeth just becasue you feel thay are somewhat transparent.
-
what is a veneer and y is it so x-pensive???
-
It's when they grind off the front and bottom of your teeth and glue on a Porcelain veneer (layer) to replace what was ground off.

two words-"extreme makeover"
-
who needs an extremem makeover
-
What about extreme makeover? Those people usually have pretty jacked up teeth.Sure people do a lot of cosmetic dentistry, but everyone's teeth are somewhat translucent. Teeth are not a "solid" color. I think this kid is just paranoid over a normal thing.
-
no in reality i have beautiful teeth. i do not need makeovers im happy w/ myself. my teeth r aligned and all. i did break a couple of teeth but i am getting replacements for em. i probly didnt notice these transparent edges before.
-
Yeah I wasn't replying to you. I was replying to Amanda. You are probably questioning the transparancy of your teeth because the two that were broken are not as transparent and it kind of sticks out compared to your natural teeth.

yup tht sounds valid
