Ok. So I'm deciding to get either an iPod shuffle(or mini, or normal) or MP3 Player. I don't know which one is better. To me price does make about 10% difference. My friend's say get an iPod shuffle because its cheaper than the original iPod and doesn't crash as much. However my friend's old mini iPod loses its battery very quickly. Only hers, my other friend's...I don't know. I also don't want an iPod cause they're more expensive and they're this whole fad.I don't know which one to get. Can you share an opinion? Which one would you rather have?

IPod Vs. MP3 Players

well, id get the ipod mini. but it looks like its not for you. also, id look into getting the new Sony PSP. it is the same price as the regular ipod but 100x better. It is an MP3 player, watch movies, play games (has wireless internet so you can play MP against other people around the country). I wouldnt think twice about getting the PSP.But if you dont think thats for you, id get the iPod mini. They MUST be good if they are so popular!

What do you want an mp3 player for? If you want one for storage, then don't get an ipod shuffle because it doesn't old too much music (1 gig at most). Also, I'm not too big of a fan of the ipod. I think the touchwheel is ineffective, and not nearly the best design. Some people have complained about having to eventually replace the battery too (you can only recharge it a finite number of times.) I have a Creative mp3 player, and so does my brother. I think the controls are much better, and you can get an mp3 player with a lot more space for a cheaper price. hope this helps!

Well I want an mp3 player for storage of songs. Ease of use, and it has a long battery life. I also want one that has the least technical difficulties. To me price would play a role but I just wanna see which one's people would want. To me looks matter the least. But I would never consider the iPod shuffle...its just ugly lol. Sry.

Get the Creative Zen! It is awesome!

Lot's of people really like the iPod Mini, but as you can see, opinions vary. You need to go to the MP3 player store and try them out (or at least play with the buttons) and see which one you like.It sounds like your friend's iPod has a defective battery. If the player's in warranty, Apple will just replace the whole thing. If not, they will pay a lot to have a new battery put in (if they don't just scrap the player).

Oh cool thanks.

Yes, opinions vary. You can take the word of the Mr. Subtle, above, or you can do some research at places like epinions.com.

I didn't say I don't believe you. cnet.com is a good site.

I have an iPod mini.I love the iPod itself.. only problem is the battery. After you use it a while the battery signal (the thing that tells you how much you have left) is uesless. Sometimes it will be full and my battery dies. Other times I'll have charged it for hours, and I'll play a song and 5 seconds later it dies.If it weren't for the battery issue the iPod would be the best thing. But I've never tried anything else so I can't really say that.Size is pretty good too I think. Right now I have 502 songs on it and my iPod says:Space capacity: 3.7 GBSpace Available: 1.8 GBSo it holds about 1000 songs I'm guessing. Not bad, I don't even know 1000 songs oO

Sizes on mp3 players turn you on?Well I'm considering something that has 20gb...is the zen creative and iPod the only one's with 20GB

I wonder if there's a pattern of problems with iPod batteries. Is yours out of warranty?
-
Not sure abuot the warranty now.
But a few months ago my first iPod had the same battery problem so I sent it to Apple and they just sent me a new iPod for free (warranty).
Now several months after I have this one now the battery problem is starting to come up again.. not as bad as my first iPod but it's still there...
And I've read many other people having battery problems as well.

That happens with any rechargeables, i think. Measured in wHrs...i'm not sure though.
