i was reading about peyronies disease, and it can make a guys penis curved. Though I hear a lot of penis curvature is genetic though. How can I tell if I have peyronies or natural curvature. I also read that u should tell your doctor immediately about curvature, because if it is peyronies it could get worse and worse, but in some cases it will actually fix itself over time and nothing needs to be done.I dont remember my penis being curved when I was younger, I am 17 now and noticed curvature to the right when I was 16. It is not dramatic and if it doesnt get any worse I should be fine. But if it was genetic then shouldnt I have always had curvature or does it not show up until pooberty sometimes?

About half of all people have their penis curved when erect. The most common direction is up; next is left; then down, then right. I don't know whether it's genetic - it often doesn't show up until puberty, as you've noticed. There is a common theory that the hand you masturbate with makes a difference, but there is an alternative theory that how you wear it soft in your pants makes a difference, and both theories may be quite wrong.Ordinary curvature is no problem. In fact we now know (though the heroic efforts of a couple in an MRI machine) that the penis has to bend inside the vagina anyway, and a natural curvature doesn't prevent that.Peyronie's disease is different. In Peyronie's scar tissue forms on one side of the penis. Because the scar tissue can't stretch, it doesn't expand during erection while the other side does, and the result is a severe bend that may be painful, and is certainly painful to try to straighten. Ordinary curvature is no problem in sex, but Peyronie's is. It doesn't sound like you have it.
