Discoloration around the navel, very slowly spreading (as in, 1 mm every two or three months). I had my navel pierced a long time ago, took it out almost as long. This didn't start showing up until years afterwards. There is no other symptoms or problems, just this weird discoloration going on, like my navel is staining my skin darker than it should be. weirdness. I know this is vague, but its all the information I have. I could go to a doctor, but why bother with all you friendly people here! (i kid i kid, i read the forms)Help out and win..um...a car! Anyone ever hear of this before? [edit] sorry, forgot the AS SIMPLE stuff...24, male, no allergies or other medical stuff, been pretty lucky up til now!

I don't like the sound of this. I think you definitely should show it to a doctor. I have no idea what it is, but the fact that it's spreading is worrying.

Sounds like an infection. Go and get it checked. The sooner the better!

You were right! Bacterial infection in my GUMS caused it. if you're not a doctor yet, GO BE ONE

Bacterial infection in your gums caused discoloration around your navel? That's kind of strange.

Not to freak you out, but many women, including my best friend's, when pregnant get a dark line down their stomach. Normally between the navel and the pubic area. It is from the high levels of hormones or something. You couldn't be pregnant? I think that's a later pregnancy thing anyway....

you're telling me. but i went to the dentist (have problems with teeth, as you can tell), and i got put on perscription toothpaste, and as the infection cleared up, so did the discoloration. its not gone yet, but is already half the size it was before. i suppose there is a chance they aren't related...but I like the sound of this better
