My med surg instructor gave us a mental health project to construct. We are to pick a partner and pick a mental health disorder. One person will narrate what the person is doing, how the disease is handled and treated, etc. And the other person must act it out. My partner and I picked Multiple Personality Disorder. I do like to become the role I'm taking on (something I learned in drama..lol) so I was wondering if anyone has an info or has any pointers on what I could use and what kind of emotions I could use. Thanx guys!In case you're wondering...my school doesn't get summer break or anything like that...we go until we graduate (August 12, 2005) woo hoo!!

Multiple Personality Disorder is now known as Dissociative Identity Disorder. People with it have usually suffered very severe abuse, usually in childhood, over a period of time. Its expression seems to be cultural - it is much more common in the US than elsewhere. It's a very controversial disorder. It's often considered that humouring the new personalities (the alters) encourages new ones to form and things get worse. Therapists try to reintegrate the personality and deal with the underlying trauma.

and so do I -
I read one like that on a bumper sticker, although the wording was slightly different:Roses are redViolets are blueI'm schizophrenic,And so am I.
