hey i dont know if this has already been posted if so im sorry lol, but whenever im on this site my aim usally gets kicked off and reconects its self and its not like i have a shitty connection i have comcast and it only does that when im on this site. Why is it doing this?
-
This site and aim
-
because this site is a walking disaster when it comes to computer problems
-
LOL i see
-
and that's why it's great to be in the UK... can't say I have any problems with popups or anything else here
-
Is the UK exempt from the pop-ups from this site??
-
How do the IP packets know what country they're in? Or did Parliament ban Internet Explorer?
-
lol thats good
-
I second that Diver, but im not sure why living in the UK means we don't get pop ups on here like everyone else, but I don't get any at all!
-
I am in the U.S and my blocker blocks all of them. I dont get any unblocked ones. So it isnt that bad for me.
-
honestly don't know, I have been wondering if when you setup windows it asks for which country you come from, I know that windows does use this some search engines so that only really pick up relevant info, wonder if it is the same with popups
-
Unless you non-popup guys tell us what browser, software firewall, and hardware firewall you're using (and maybe your ISP as well), we can't really say much about it.
My trick is to use Norton Internet Security's firewall, keep it up-to-date; and Firefox, with the pop-up blocker engaged, javascript set up to prevent Web sites from messing with browser functions that they shouldn't be messing with.
-
well this "non-popup" guy uses kerio firewall, kaspersky anti hacker, avg anti-virus, normal unadjusted internet explorer and my isp is v21.I do not use any popup stoppers except for the one built in to IE, no hardware firewalls. All three of my puters are the same, and non get popups from this site or most american sites, I just keep my updates up to date, and have my settings for UK... oh, and I haven't pissed around with the internal settings LMAO I fdisk and reinstall each computer every 3 weeks
-
oh and norton and mcafee can go suck my big one, what a fucking wasted of space to have that crap on your computer... any hacker with half a brain cell can get past them LMAO... them two programs cause nothing but processor lag
-
I won't argue that Norton is great, or that it doesn't tax the PC's CPU and memory, but I think it's worth something (especially since it cost me less than $0 after rebates...it's worth at least that much). NIS has pop-up-blocking functionality. The thing is, most hackers don't have more than half a brain cell, or if they do, they don't use it. Someone clever and resourceful will probably be able to break into your computer. The great majority of evil-doers won't, and can be stopped by a simple firewall (as well as having your security settings set appropriately).

mcafee works fine for me
-
No offense, but McAfee sucks.
Wait, I take that back. The people at McAfee should take that as offensive and make a product worth buying.
-
I have mcafee and it sucks cock for me i hate it... but what are you going to do lol
-
get a decent firewall and virus scanner that doesn't suck the life out of your pc lol
