Hello all. I got the snip quite late. I was almost 16 at the time. I'm now 21. For quite a while after the circumcision the glans remained pink in color (I think maybe even up to about a year and a half) and it had the same soft, smooth texture. But eventually, normal skin grew over the glans and it's become harder. Also, it has become less sensitive. From what I've researched on the net, this is to be expected. Maybe you won't be able to answer this question but it's worth a shot. Is it possible to return to what the glans was like before? I ask this because I've seen some pornos with darker skinned guys who have been cut, but their glans is still pink/purple in color. Also, the circumcision scar is also a very different color from the rest of the shaft....just like my penis was like shortly after circumcision. Would foreskin restoration possibly restore the glans to what it was before? I know that the foreskin cannot be replaced because the nerves, tissue etc. are all gone, but is it possible to make the glans softer and more sensitive again? Thanks.

Question about glans post circumcision

not to be a party pooper. but from what i understand is once the glands dry out they stay like that. the nerve endings in the head are gone i believe. i think you could try a restoration if you had a loose circumcision.

lol gone? I'm thinking that's inaccurate.

Hi, "Natural": Yes, the glans penis can be restored to it's natural colour and sensitivity after circumcision. The process involves slow, regular "stretching" of remaining shaft and foreskin, until the glans is again covered. Go to http://norm.org/ and/or http://norm-phoenix.org/ for information on stretching and for the location of support groups in your area. There are also several foreskin restoration groups online, especially at Yahoo. Google "foreskin restoration" to locate some of the groups.Understand, of course, that the outer surface of the glans is made up not by "skin", as such, but by mucous membrane. The inner foreskin itself is also mucous membrane. After the trauma of circumcision, remaining foreskin and the glans penis lose their natural sensitivity due to the drying effect of air, and from being roughed up by the friction from constant rubbing against clothing, etc. Imagine what would happen if we also circumcised our eyelids, a part of the body which bears a remarkable similarity to the foreskin, and whose functions are almost perfectly analogous.Of great interest to you is the location of your circumcision scar. All tissue between the sulcus of the penis to the scar is original foreskin. You are lucky, inndeed, if that distance is greater than an inch, but whatever remains is valuable, as stretching that "skin" back over the glans will restore much of your inner foreskin to its natural state. Besides the inner foreskin, the primary loss to circumcision are the ridged bands: specialized tissue which lies just inside the foreskin opening. No matter how much original foreskin remains after circ, the ridged bands are invariably, and tragically, lost. Remaining inner foreskin is important because the primary location of penile nerve endings are located not in the glans, but in the inner foreskin. Korydon
