I have a question....I have recently been getting these little zit type spots on my mid-riff that sometimes hurt. They bleed and scab over.....are these just weird zits or should I be going to a doctor?

Help please

Do you shave this area? Is it your lower abdomen?
-
No I don't shave that area....its more around my waist.....kinda like the "love handle" area.....
-
perhaps a rash or an allergic reaction to something like soap, lotion, cologne, etc.

how old are you? it sounds like shingles (but it only happens in people who are middle aged or older, although sometimes ppl in their 20's can get it). shingles is reactivation of chicken pox that ppl had in childhood. or maybe it is chicken pox if you didn't have it yet or didn't get immunized... are they on one side of your abdomen or both left and right (of the middle)? -shingles would only be typically on either side, but not both. are they itchy?how long have you been getting them? 'cause if it's either shingles or chicken pox, they appear for about a week or so, then gradually disappear. and in both cases there would be zit things that are sort of in different stages of development - both fresh zits and ones that are getting scabbed over...you should probably see a doctor. whatever it is, maybe he/she can give you medication that would make them go away faster.

In reply to: (but it only happens in people who are middle aged or older, although sometimes ppl in their 20's can get it). Not quite true. My daughter got shingles at the age of 9. Apparently, those who have had chickenpox before the age of one and those who were much older (i.e. teens/adult) are more suceptable to getting shingles.

wow! i got it at 24, and i thought i was an early bloomer.

Thanks for your suggestions! =) I had chicken pox as a child so i don't think its that. I had one "zit" on my back just above my bum and now I have one on my side. I've heard that shigles are very painful and these "zits" don't hurt that much...so I'm not sure if it that. I don't know. But I think I will go to the Doctor's....just to get it checked out. Thanks again! Any other suggestions are appreciated!
