I have several of them...I don't know why I have them either (???) I hate them. They are popping up all over the place. I have some of them on my neck, some on the back of my head, one under my left arm. I even have one on my nut bag! Does anyone know anything about them? I'm guessing I will need to see a dermatologist to have them removed. I tried to cut one off and it bled for several hours! Ouch!
Do you think they could be a prelude to some type of cancer?
Thanks for any advise....

Do you think they could be a prelude to some type of cancer? No. My grandfather got them, and my father got them, but they never developed into anything else...just excess skin.

Oh, I used to have them. One went away (but it was small), and the other I clipped off with fingernail clippers(but it didn't bleed for several hours-it was just ridiculously painful). Not advisable, but I was stupid at the time (it was a year ago, so don't try to berate me over it now). My sister, however, got hers removed at her family practitioner (where she also gets warts removed). I don't really know why they come up, but I don't think they are serious, like cancer. At all.

Thanks for the info. They are just really ugly and bothersome, Of course knowing that your Grandfather and Father had them made me feel really old! Heheheh. Do you think they are hereditary since you mentioned that both family members had them? I too have cut a few of them off before, but the little suckers hurt like hell and it just kept bleeding and bleeding. Maybe I should go have the taken off. Thanks again.

Do you think they are hereditaryYes, that's what I was implying. I'm not saying they didn't get them until they were old. My father was less affected, and I have one or two small ones.

Yes as Steve said, they are hereditary, and people tend to get them as they get older. Nobody knows why they come up really.
