Hello all... I had this lap dance in a club. Girl offered me her nipples and I sucked them. It turned out she had a baby and I ended up swallowing her milk 3 or 4 times (I kinda loved it, though). Boldly, milk is a body fluid and I am worried I might catch some STI from it, but haven't found anything about it in the Net. Can you guys/gals pls tell me if you know anything about this? Does anybody know how possible is it to catch an STI from swallowing a little amount of breast milk?

Breast milk: Can you get STIs from swallowing it?

if this post isn't bullshitThe dancer was stupid. Your infections could be passed on to the baby, if she's still nursing.

Thank you both for your help. It seems my question wasn't an easy one, was it?Since my posting, I've found some information, which I share in case somebody else happens to need it: http://www.thelaboroflove.com/forum/breastfeeding/sick.htmlSTDs such as Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphllis, and Trichomonas do not require the discontinuation of breastfeeding. With Syphllis, follow the same precautions as you would with Herpes. With Trichomonas (a common vaginal infection) you will probably be prescribed Flagyl. According to Dr. Jack Newman, MD. FRCPC, there is no need to stop breastfeeding during either short or long term treatment while taking this drug.-The other really scary illness is AIDS, or HIV infection. There is evidence that the HIV virus can be transmitted through breastfeeding. I learned from another site that HIV can effectively be transmitted thru nursing, but it is not as aggresive a means of infection as in sexual intercourse or from blood from an infected person.I "just" need to wait some months in order to get an HIV test. Won't be a good wait, though. Thanks again,Bread

How about hepaitis? People obsess over AIDS (as they should), but there's a higher risk of hepatitis, and that will screw you up or kill you as well, and is much more widespread (and easier to transmit) than AIDS.The issue is now only what diseases you can get from the milk, it's also what diseases you can get form other people who've had their mouths on the nipples in question.

SteveA,It seems that is an issue also. In the same link, there's some info on Hepatitis:-Hepatitis A is a viral infection of the liver, which causes jaundice in the mother. It is transmitted through contact with infected blood or fecal matter. There is no reason to discontinue nursing if you have Hepatitis A.-Hepatitis B is a virus that causes symptoms similar to Hepatitis A, but they last longer. It is transmitted by contact with body fluids such as blood, saliva, and mucus, and can also be transmitted sexually. If you contract it during pregnancy, your baby will be give several doses of the Hepatitis B vaccine within the first 12 hours of life, and breastfeeding can continue. If you get it after the baby’s birth, he will be vaccinated and you can continue nursing.-Hepatitis C is a virus that begins with a mild infection, but then progresses to jaundice. Half of those who contract it will develop chronic liver disease. It is transmitted through blood, needles, and sexual contact. The risk of transmission is minimal. If you are in the acute phases of the illness, you may need to stop nursing temporarily until your symptoms subside. Discuss this with your doctor.Regards,Bread

Just to close the issue and in case somebody else gets into this mess I got into, I just talked with my doctor, and he told me that effectively, breast milk can be a means for transmitting mainly hepatitis and HIV, but he also told me not to worry too much, due to the fact that bugs are too weakly present in it. He mentioned that a baby nurtured by an infected mother doesn't necessarily grab the infection immediately, but -usually- needs to feed several times in order to get it.
Anyway, he advised to take the HIV test in due time, that is, in 3 months after the risky contact, and after that, in 3 more months to make sure everything is ok.Best regards,

Why would a dancer let you do that? Don't they have a thing about not leting the men touch them?

He's from Mexico...I'm sure the laws are different.

Let me tell you something... I went once to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and the hosts to the training I was taking, took all of us to a place named Solid Gold, a sort of high class table dance club. People were not supposed to touch anything from the dancers, but... then people were invited to take the girls to a less crowded, shadowy corner of the place, where they could touch whatever they wanted to, of course for some extra bucks. I learned this from some guys in the group that accepted the invitation. One of them was even allowed to play his fingers in the girl's crotch. It happens everywhere, I suppose...
