is that normal?

That "thin line of skin", coolkid, is undoubtedly your frenum, which all normal, intact men possess. It is designed much like the spring of a screen door, and for much the same reason. After for whatever reason the foreskin has been retracted, the frenum causes the foreskin to spring back over the glans to cover and protect it from chafing and from exposure to drying air. By the way, the body has several "frenums". Look in a mirror while you lift up your tongue and you'll see another frenum attaching the underside of your tongue to the floor of your lower jaw. If you have not been exercising your frenum and foreskin on a regular basis (chiefly through retraction during intercourse and masturbation), your frenum might be a bit stiff ... altogether too taut and unresponsive for comfort, just as though it were a new spring on a screen door. In such cases the best course of action is to begin a series of regular exercises designed to lengthen and loosen the frenum to encourage free movement, much as regular use will loosen the tightness of a new spring on a screen door. These "stretching" exercises will minimize or prevent bending of the glans.A good exercise is demonstrated here: http://www.foreskin.org/46-33-04.jpg Using your fingers, pull out, gently but firmly, away from your body, on the tissue on the underside of your penis. Hold the stretch for up to five minutes and repeat several times every day. This "stretching" action is designed to encourage the growth of new skin cells in the frenum so that it slowly lengthens, thus reducing the strain on the glans when the foreskin is retracted. Until this occurs, you should be careful during sexual intercourse and masturbation. Stroke and thrust gently. Be too rough and the tight frenum might snap and bleed. thank you that really helps also i think i may ahve a small case of phimosis i can retract my foreskin when im erect but i have to pull it and its a little bit tight, i heard that i should just stretch it while im in the shower with warm water. would that work?

Yes, that will help. It doesn't sound like you have much in the way of phimosis though. If you can retract your foreskin while erect so that the foreskin is behind the head, without pain, then you are fine. The tightness is normal, but you can reduce that by retracting more often while erect, and it will gradually get less tight. The foreskin does not automatically retract by itself when you get erect. It does in some guys who have short foreskins, but its not necessary. So if it doesn't go back unless you pull it back, that's fine - as long as you CAN pull it back past the head. Phimosis is where you can't pull it back past the head because its too tight and/or it hurts too much.

Well, yes, warm water will make the skin more supple and amendable to stretching. Obviously, soaking in warm bath water will be more advantageous than a shower. However, as you are very near achieving full retractability, the process might be easier for you to stretch 'dry'. Warm water soaks are more useful to stretching those foreskins which are months away from retraction, whereas you could stretch 'dry' even as you lie in bed of a morning or evening, if, of course, you keep your attention on stretching and don't allow yourself to be distracted by some other pleasurable activity ... always a danger when handling the penis.
