It's an odd question. I urinate extremely frequently (I'm also almost always thirsty), and I wanted to know the normal rate.
-
How many times a day do you urinate?
-
The more you drink the more you urinate. If your urine is clear, then you're hydrated. If I'm hydrated all day, then I urinate like 10 times in a day. If I don't drink that much, then maybe 2 or 3.

same as websexinfo

Deep down, I'm afraid that I have a problem. Specifically, I'm afraid that I have Nephrogenic diabetes, a disease typically linked to the X-chromosome (my grandfather had this, so I'm at risk). One of the symptoms is extremely frequent urination (and constant thirst). I'm fairly old now, and I've always been afraid to get tested. I've just accepted waking up three or so times a night to go to the bathroom. I guess my thought has been: If I've got it, there's not much of a cure, so I don't want to know. I've also figured that since no one told me I have this disease yet (I'm in my mid-twenties), I don't have it. On the other hand, I'm about to get married, and ignoring potential health problems is not fair to my fiance. Oddly, I had nearly wiped the fear of this disease out of my mind until Websex posted something on oxytocin and Vasopressin. Vasopressin is an antidiuretic horomone- a horomone that the receptors of Neurogenic diabetics don't recognize. Funny how that works…Ah well, I should just bite the bullet. Even if I have it, many people have much worse problems. If I don't have it, then I just need to learn how to stop peeing so damn much!

I was in pain for 4 years before I went to the doctor. I was afraid of what they would tell me. It got to the point where the pain became unbearable and so I went to the doctor. They diagnosed me with Crohns Disease, starting treating me, and now I'm back to my normal self. Don't be afraid, you'll be ok.
-
Thanks, Websex. I guess a little doctor's appointment never hurt anyone. It might even lay my fears to rest
-
anticipation is usually worse than the real thing. Glad to have helped.

Nah, it's not like normal diabetes. And honestly, I've been doing a little reading, and I'm starting to think that I've worried myself about nothing. I can't imagine that no one would have noticed any symptoms of this disease when I was younger. I'm going to still get checked out, but I'm feeling much better. I think I just need to get my urination under control and to get this silly fear out on the table (or on some random webforum- lol)

It's been a while since someone posted here, but I have Diabetes Type I (Diabetes mellitus). I'm not familiar with the type you're talking about or is that a fancy name for Type II?My symptoms when I got diabetes were also always being thirsty and urinating a lot, but that was the extreme case, as in drinking a can of soda then literally 2 minutes later wanting to drink another soda. My blood sugar was around 1200 when I got to the hospital (normal is around 100).

So far this morning (in about 4 hrs) I have had 5 cups of water - and have gone to the bathroom 13 times. Does this seem right for the amount of water I've consumed?
-
Er, no. Unless they were monster-size cups, it seems like something is wrong to me.
-
Okay, I think I'm on the opposite side of the spectrum. I'm never thristy. I'll MAYBE have 24 ounces of water a day, in addition to 1 cup of coffee and a glass of wine with dinner. On a good day, I pee like, 4 times. Even worse - I hate sodas and juice is too acidic. So I feel like I'm really stuck with water...which tastes flat to me. My pee is always very yellow, and I'm wondering if it's time I talk to a doctor. What do ya'll think?

The more water you drink the more clear your urine will be and youshe be drinking at least 64oz a day! Persomally i drink anywhere from 8 to 12 24oz bottles of water a day, especially durring training periods. I probably urinate 10 times a day
-
I'm not use to drinking very much water during the day. But I recently found out that I need to be drinking at least 8 cups of water a day. While driking only about 2 or 3 cups, I urinated only a few times a day, about 2 or 3. I'm never really thirsty. But when I do start drinking more water, I find that I am urinating a lot for every glass of water, and constantly--about every hour and a half. This is normal, right?
-
yeah, it's normal
