In reply to: So then, are you buying into the anit-Semetic stuff, or are you saying it should just be let go, or do you just feel personally wronged for having your circumcision argument attacked? WHAT anti-semetic stuff??? NAME IT. Take a post that I made that you think was anti-semtic, and quote it here, and explain to me how it is anti-semtic. You're nuts man. And the only one who has shamed himself is YOU, SteveA. There aren't too many people who respect you here. You've really brought these forums down, and its a shame. Was that your goal when you came here? You never sent me a PM to discuss this further OFFLINE. Proof that you have no balls and you are WEAK.

In reply to:WHAT anti-semetic stuff??? NAME IT. Take a post that I made that you think was anti-semtic, and quote it here, and explain to me how it is anti-semtic. You're nuts man.To recap, for the nth time...Someone asked about the popularity of circumcision in the U.S. (it's not popular in Europe).walrusboy related a fanciful story about how Jewish doctors promulgated circumcision in the U.S., starting in the 1920's, in order confuse the Germans.I never heard of such a thing. I asked for a reference. focus then wrote:In reply to:"I had heard that too about Jewish doctors and circumcision in the U.S., and I'm pretty sure its true." I post two references to articles explaining the origin of circumcision in the U.S.; one is a footnoted article from the Journal of Social History.By now, focus won't be disuaded, and claims,In reply to:I'll have you know a lot of my friends are Jewish...I ask focus how he can just accept the Jewish doctor canard out-of-hand, and he says:In reply to:I accept it because its true - Jews have control or tremendous influence and power in the U.S. government, legal system, Hollywood & the media, and medical practice. And the reality is, Jews tend to look out for their own more than most, and they also tend to think their religion and ways are superior to everyone else's.If you think my opinion is antisemetic, then you really don't know what the word means.focus can't point to anything historical to back up his belief in the doctor story. Apparenty he accepts it as true, since Jews have so much influence in so many area, and so must have been really influential in medicine in the 1920's (keeping in mind that not many Jews were allowed into universities and medical schools back then). It thus seems only logical (to focus) that they would have started circumcising every infant boy in sight, since they thought that they had a superior religion, etc. Now, there are large leaps of logic there, but the problem is that there doesn't seem to be anything real to back up the story. Even walrus boy made the effort to look it up, found the sane explanation of the history of circumcision in the U.S., and retracted the ridiculous story. focus, however, still clings to the story. The answer to your question, focus, is that the Jewish doctor story was made up to harm Jews. There is nothing historical to back it up. I looked. You presented nothing. You still agree with the story. That is anti-Semetic. You didn't exactly cover yourself with glory in your later comments either._______________________________________________________In reply to:And the only one who has shamed himself is YOU, SteveA. There aren't too many people who respect you here. You've really brought these forums down, and its a shame. Was that your goal when you came here? This is not the subject of this discussion. If it makes you feel better to insult me, so be it. But, how does that justify the anti-Semetic stuff?________________________________________________________In reply to:You never sent me a PM to discuss this further OFFLINE. Proof that you have no balls and you are WEAK.I'm not sure how that proves I'm WEAK. Are you going to punch me over PM? I'm not interested in a duel. I wouldn't have said anything different on a PM than I would say in an open forum. I hope your high IQ functions beyond the realm of male genitalia. If you have balls, you'll discuss your beliefs with your alleged Jewish friends. See what they think. If you really believe what you claim, then you won't be afraid to discuss it with them.

LOL that was fun.................was hoping to see my posts imortalised forever on that site, but, alas, no LOL

So you ONLY believe things that you read? You never question anything, or test the validity of articles? Never think outside of the box? That's very narrow minded of you.
I'm sure I could dig up plenty of articles on the Internet that talk about how Jewish doctors have had an influence on the circumcision rates in America. But I'm not going to waste my time. Besides, you would only ignore them saying they're all anti-semtic anyway.
And for the Nth time, I said the Jewish doctors had an INFLUENCE on circumcision rates in the U.S. I didn't say they were the ONLY factor for why circumcision rates are high in America. Just one of many.
Look, most Jewish doctors who are obviously circumcised themselves, will recommend circumcision to parents too. Why? Because they think their way is the better way. That's not a conspiracy, that's just the way they are. I don't think there is a hidden agenda, and if there is one, it is probably to make sure something like what happened in WWII with the Nazis identifying Jews by their circumcision status, could never happen again. Think about it, if there was ever another instance of persecuting Jews like the Nazis did, here in America, it would be impossible to identify Jews from non-Jews by looking at their circumcision status, since the majority of Americans, both Jews and non-Jews, are circumcised. By making circumcision popular, it eliminates it as an identifier.
Now, can I prove this is the case? Of course not. For one thing, anyone who writes an article for such a topic would be immediately chastised for being anti-semetic (which is absurd, but that's the way people are). But you must admit, there is some logic to the scenario I listed.

How is that 'story' harming Jews? How is that anti-semetic? I asked you to quote an anti-semetic comment from me, and you didn't. Because I never made one.
The scenario I presented here is merely a plausible theory as to ONE of the many reasons why circumcision rates are high in the U.S. There's nothing anti-semetic about it. Unless you consider having any opinion different from your own, anti-semtic, which you clearly do. Look in the mirror, man.

In reply to:I'm not sure how that proves I'm WEAK. For the simple fact that you constantly post here publicly looking for support and approval from others to back up your opinions. You're afraid to debate ths alone. In reply to: I hope your high IQ functions beyond the realm of male genitalia. Why do you keep bringing up my IQ? I haven't posted about my IQ score here in I don't know how long. Must be nearly 2 years ago. What did you do, do a search and read through all of my old posts going back 5 years? That's kind of creepy. You must have a lot of free time on your hands. Why don't you do something more productive with your time instead of calling people you really don't know anti-semetic biggots?
-
> You're afraid to debate ths alone.
It's not like people are jumping in here, taking sides. It's as if we are "debating" alone. I have no idea how I would demonstrate bravery by "debating" you one-on-one. I wouldn't say a single thing differently to you if were were fact-to-face, although I might be less grammatical. Would you say even scarier stuff to me if it wasn't an open discussion?
No, I didn't look it up, I remembered it. But I'll look it up now.
I said:
In reply to:
Debating IQ scores and genius is about as useful as debating how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. It's all highly unscientific. It gives people who score highly on the tests a reason to be pleased with themselves.
In reply to:
I agree. I've seen people with some pretty high IQ's do some really stupid things. Including yours truly.
-
In reply to:

I'm not asking for proof. I'm asking for a shred of evidence. Are you next going to ask me to prove the contrary?
In reply to:

This is exactly the "logic" that holocaust deniers use. It seems logical to you because it confirms your already-held prejudices.
In reply to:

False stories that villify a group give bigots more license, in their mind, to discriminate against a group. Jews have been beaten up for being "Christ Killers", "using the blood of gentiles to bake their bread", etc.
If you're interested, I can find information from people far more articulate and learned than I who can explain why such canards are harmful. We can also submit what you said to some group(s) that concern themselves with such things. If they say that there's no problem, I'll STFU.
Are you brave enough to try that? Are you brave enough to discuss what you've said with your Jewish friends?

There's a new book that covers the entire history of circumcision, and explores the necessity of infant circumcision, by Leonard B. Glick, a cultural anthropologist with a medical degree, from Oxford University Press, June 2005...Marked in Your Flesh: Circumcision from Ancient Judea to Modern America Here is the Oxford University Press Web page on the book.
