I will give you my opinion, but you need to make your own choice depending upon what YOU think is right, not what everybody else does. I know that I have heard it is a sin to jack off to porn, but I do it anyway. I am a Christian, I have very strong faith, I go to a Christian school, and am involved in a lot of mission work. As long as you don't jack off to porn while you are at church, I think you will be fine. I don't know how old you are or what kind of church you go to, but if you are active in a youth group or something, talk to your youth minister about it because every church has a different opinion on masturbation. If you are Catholic, I don't know whether or not you would feel comfortable discussing it with your priest. (My dad grew up Catholic so I know it is really different from the way I have grown up in the United Methodist Church.) If nothing else, discuss it with an older sibling, parent, friend, or someone whose opinion you would trust. That's all I can say. Good luck deciding what you think is right.

Christian question..

Someething really interesting here: I've just checked the New Testament Thessalonians 1st 4:3 in Ancient Greek language (I'm greek) and there is a difference here, since the word "fornication" does not exist, but I could find the word "prostitution". So, it's written there that we should not pay women for having sex!I totally agree with it, since free sex is always the best sex!LOL!

Steve,I have to disagree with you here. Jesus, or Paul did not nullify anything in the Old Testament. Jesus was the fullfillment of the old testament.Paul's teachings, which I believe you are speaking to again did not nullify the Old Testament law. But, since he was an Apostle to the Gentiles, pointed out that they did not have to participate in the Jewish Traditions to be eligible for the grace offered by the Christ. Now, back to the original question. I believe most forms of Christianity would view masturbating to pornography as being sinful. Based mostly on the versus already pointed out and several other passages that reflect that same point. The issue of what is in your heart (this means your mind as well) is the point. Now the issue of masturbation is more complicated. Most arguments against go back to the Onan arguments in the old testament where God struck him down because he spilled his seed on the ground. But this had more to do with him not performing his duty as a brother than masturbating. In fact, he did it during sex, so you could even argue (and some do) that cloitus ineruptus is a sin.My personal belief is that masturbation is not a sin, in and of itself. It can become a sin when you allow it to take over your life, or involve thoughts that should not be included. I also believe that both adultry (sex outside of marriage) and fornication (sex with between unmarried folks) are both sin.You need to examine your own heart, study the scripture, and talk with God on the matter.

Jewish TraditionsIf you call the Jewish scripture ("Torah", or "Old Testament", as Christians call it) mere "traditions", then I guess anything goes. No more keeping kosher. No more circumcision.Paul chose what he thought was important. The rules changed. Why do so many Christians have an issue with homosexuality? Jesus said nothing about the subject. It was obvioulsy not a priority for him. But the Old Testament had some unambigously bad things to say about it (or at least about male homosexuality).Ditto for mastrubation. I've discussed the story of Onan several times, other people have, and now you have. But still many Christians, Jews, and Moslems think masturbation is a sin.Secular humanists don't have to wrestle with what pleases God. It's a less stressful life.
