I was constipated (sp?) the other day and it took a while for me, several 'sessions' that day, to try to move my bowl. Then today I noticed a small lump that isn't really painful but uncomfortable when i sit in certin ways. It is pretty small, smaller then or as small as a smaller pinkie finger nail. Do you think it is just a swollen gland of some sort or what? I rather not go to the docter if it will go away without doing so... I was lookng at hymroid (sp?) pictures online and it doesn't look as extreme... Comments? Concerns? Advice?

Anal lump...

My guess: a hemorhoid. They come in varying sizes, shapes, painfulnesses, and itchinesses. But they're all caused by a swollen vein, often caused by bad toilet habits (squeezing), overexertion, childbirth, etc.

i agree with steve, in that hemoroids come in all shapes, sizes, and painfullness...factors... for lack of a better word

Sounds like a small hemorhoid to me. Straining when you have a bowell movement causes them. Make sure you clean yourself properly with warm water and soap after each movement. Sitting in hot water bath will help get rid of it and use of an ointment such as Preparation H will help.
