Lately i've been noticing my stomach making growling and gurgling noises. I'm not hungry so that's not the cause. It's embarassing because other people can hear it, does anyone else get this?

Stomach noises

It's probably attached to your diet. Have you changed any eating habits recently? It's likely just gas moving around in your intestines.
-
the sounds you are hearing are called borborygmi (cool word eh?) and they are caused by gases being moved along your gut as the intestines contract. most of the time you can't hear them but if things get a bit airy in there then the intestine wall can be stretched like a drum skin and amplify the noise. try yoghurt to restore the normal bacterial balance in your intestine.

hmm yogurt will cure that? haha, I hate the sounds too. Sometimes it starts making farting noises, I just start laughing to myself though.

A couple years back, I was running late and couldn't eat breakfast. So then I was sitting there in an extremely quiet class and my stomach growls so loud that everyone thought I farted. I haven't missed breakfast since then.

I agree on that one!

LOL I had that happen once when I was in high school. We were taking a test and it was quiet. I was soo hungry my stomach growled for about 30 seconds straight, felt like 5 minutes, and it sounded like a baby crying. Everyone turned around and I was soo embarrassed lol!

I just went to a doctor for that and got some type of nerve medication for ulcers, because he didn't know what else to do. (It only works a little). So, I think it's controlled by nerves or something - like it seems like when I'm surprised, my borborygmi is worse. But I would love to know if there's a cure because it's embarrassing and uncomfortable!! Also, I heard vegetables are not that good for it because they cause gas release in the intestines.

I'm not sure what you can do about your borborygmi (gut rumbling) other than trying to eat less gassy foods (like cruciferous vegetables), try eating smaller meals more often, try not to have an empty stomach in critical situations, etc.).How was your ulcer diagnosed? Were you endoscoped? Do you know for sure that you have an ulcer? Most ulcers are caused by a helicobacter pylori infection, and can be cured with a course of antibiotics. You need to be tested for the presence of that bacterium.See this CDC page for more technical information.
