Hello all. I live in the UK and have been suffering with headache pain and soreness generally on the left hand side of my head but not always. My temple seems to throb and i have pain in the lower part of my skull which radiates behind my ear. My worst fear is that its a tumor or something more sinister. I have just this morning had an MRI scan and have seen a neurologist on Monday. He seemed to think that its something called a "Transferred Migraine". he didnt seem to concerned that it was a sinister worry for me. He did say that he was 699 out of 700 that it wasnt a tumor, but me being a depressive worrier after losing my mum with Breast Cancer think that i'll be the 1 person with it. Has anybody else suffered anything similar. I am on Propranolol 80mg which i have taken since Monday. I have been on prozac and i worry so much. Have not been well in myself for about a year now with depression. Just want to feel better but i always think the worse. I did have really bad tenson headaches about 4years ago when my scalp was sore and my temple, however i cannot remember what i was given then. Its afecting the way i think and i'm not seeing the consultant till the 15th. My company wont let me work due to my job (Cabin Crew) and the medication i'm on. Sorry its long winded but just need to talk to someone. My fiancee whom i marry in October is really fed up cause i worry so much its starting to afect her. Although i'm not feeling like this on purpose or for sympathy, i really just want to sort myself out. Wish i could beleive the Neurologist but i still remain scared until i get the MRI results back. Regards Pete

I don't think anyone here can diagnose your problem, but you really should take some comfort by your doctor's being pretty sure that you have migraine headaches. They may not be fun, but they won't kill you, and they can be treated.
Is there anything you can do to relax (meditate a lot, yoga, tai chi, etc.) until the MRI results are available? Is there any way you can get the radiologist (or whoever will examine the image) to expedite the process? Don't wait until they call you with the results, unless you're certain they'll contact you as soon as they're ready. Call your doctor's office to find out when the results will be ready....and don't take "in two weeks" for an answer.
