He's a sad prick. He's actually proud that he beat up a soccer player? What's next? beating up people from the Chess club or the Library community?
Teenagers don't get it these days, using your martial art skill against people who doesn't know how to fight ain't cool, it's stupid and dangerous. Ok, if he said "I beat the crap out of a champion kickboxer, he may have earned my respect but what he did is pathetic.
sigh my advice: go to the nearest dojo and look for someone with a dan rank and see how long you'll fare. Oh, don't forget to tell them: "I want no rules, everything allowed and don't forget don't stop until I bleed and become unconscious". Now that would earn my respect.
Anyway, hello everyone! I've been away to China, cool place!
I wanted to start a post on Diet recipes such as healthy foods and different shakes for people who wants to have a healthy diet yet they run out of ideas quickly after one week of boring diet or run short of money to buy supplements.
Poor Man's Protein Shake [For people with low budget]
What you need are: skim-milk powder in skim milk [how much, you decide], with possibly three cooked egg whites, and three or four bananas.
How to cook: Well, put all the ingredients into the Blender and let it spin! Ready to serve.
Tuna Corn mix with Boiled Rice [For lazy people]
What you need are: 1 can of tuna in "whatever you like type of oil", 1 can of corn and rice[I prefer red rice, healthier but I don't know if it's easily available in the US]
How to cook: Easy, mix the tuna and corn and eat with rice. If there are any leftovers, just put it in the fridge and eat cold for breakfast. This is for those people who are too lazy to cook.
Body Builder Pancakes! ! [I donno, I like it]
What you need are: 1/2 cup of oatmeal, 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, 1 egg yolk, 4 eggs without the yolk, a dash of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of vanilla.
How to cook: Blend all the ingredients and fry using the "no-fat no-stick" spray thing, or just use "olive oil" if the spray thing is not available. Try to avoid butter or oil. Fry until both sides are golden, just like any ordinary pancake, and presto, you got Body builder pancake.
Feel free to post your own recipes!
If anyone has any more recipes, let's share them, cuz I'm getting bored of my diet, might gets some idea from you guys.
Don't feel ashamed of posting your recipe, I think my tuna corn and the poor man's protein shake is a bit pathetic, but hey, it works!
Ps. . Maybe RobBob wants to share his vast knowledge of Shakes, I tried some, and frankly, they taste good although a bit bizarre sometimes [Peanut butter in a shake?]
As I said, it's mostly theory, and that's what the guy wanted. Me? I would reconsider fighting multiple opponents, but if the situation doesn't allow me to choose, I rather be in a tight area where my opponents wouldn't be able to rush in on me at the same time, like a tight alley where you have wall on your sides and the opponents lined up infront.
For the Sambo techniques, it actually works, and it has been proven by the Spetznats on several occassions. It's called "Shock Engineering", where you use a part of your body or object to knock someone down by hitting hard on a vital spot, this will not only make them tumble down, they will be momentarily stunned. This will make it seem as if you're fighting many people but not at the same time. It sounds stupid, and personally, I don't think it works, but if you see a professional Sambo practitioner do it, it's amazing.
Me? I'd never learnt anything like that, and for me, I'll stick to "1 on 1" duels, not "10 vs 1" scenarios.
If I remember right, there's an ITF TKD school in Bangkok that teaches how to take care of 2 opponents under different circumstances, but I don't know if this is in the ITF curriculum but sometimes I think, is it possible to pull something like that off in a real fight? On one demonstration they showed the master being held by the arms by two students on the master's side, then the master did a groin kick to the guy on the left and did a wristlock on the other fellow. Donno if this would work, or maybe a new kind of TKD??
I forgot to mention two important factors of a street fight as well.
If you're outnumbered try to get into small areas like tight alleys where you can't get surrounded but don't go into dead-ends. When in the small alley or corridor, fight your opponent one at a time, but don't get surrounded or cornered. [Jackie Chan style, lol ]
Also, when fighting multiple opponents, try knocking one off balance and fight with the other, then when he gets up, knock the other guy off balance. This will make it possible for you to fight one guy at a time, though you get quite fatiqued after a while. [This is taught by the Russian army and Combat Sambo]
I haven't been much in Japan lately, but it is evident. Just go out on the street in, uh, Kanagawa or Aishi and ask any teenager, "what you think of Americans?" oh, don't bother asking the Japanese who immigrated to the US 50 years ago, they may be ethnically Japanese but they, well, are Americans.
Unlike Americans, Japanese once angered, they don't drop their grudge very easily. A week ago, Koizumi apologized the Asian countries for Japan's invasion during the WW2. The Chinese, Koreans and the Brits might accept it, but for the normal Japanese it was intolerable. I assume that Koizumi won't be voted for a second period.
Sadly, Japanese associate black with bad, thus the Japanese aren't really fond of Afro-americans, though they're not racist, they're just not fond.
Pearl Harbour was a tragedy, Hiroshima and Nagasaki was pure slaughter of civilians. The US dropped the bombs AFTER the Japanese had declared defeat but the US wanted to show Russia their new toy so they dropped the bombs. If you want to blame the Japanese for Pearl Harbour, blame the army, but killing innocent people? Hiroshima and Nagasaki wasn't a military base whatsoever, so of all cities, why a civilian one?
Oh, I might have relayed my message wrong. The Japanese aren't racist nowadays, only pre-judice. They find themselves hard to trust foreigners due to history that we have forgotten. They don't really abide to the buddhist rule of "forgive and forget".
ps. . When you buy porn in Asia, on the back it says "Made in Japan" and most of the actors are japanese cuz they have this high pitch voice and keep saying "I-te"[It hurts]
Yo, being half Japanese myself, most of what you said, is kinda true. Didn't you know? Japan = the country of sex? 70% of pornographies in Asia comes from Japan.
As for defending the country? well, it's upto you, but I have a question, what is it that makes you like Japan so much?
I'm not an expert in the culture area, but what seems strange to Japan is quite normal in USA. Well, in Japan, most people don't kiss in public, but there are few exceptions. The people in Japan are a bit pre-judice but it's better than being racist like some Americans are [Even though the era of racial discrimination is over]. The Japanese are extremely strict, almost like as if they were perfectionists, whereas in the US, it's more relaxed, and because of this, the Japanese view the Americans as sloppy and lazy.
And many more differences can be found like, uh, the way people dress. The Japanese likes to color their hair, wear bright yet strange outfit, and for me it's normal, but for americans, it's really strange. Oh! Japanese rock groups are cool in the eyes of the Japanese, but in the eyes of Americans, it's gay.
Lets take the example of the teenage groups who call themselves "junkies". They usually have 50's hairstyle, blonded or red, wears Japanese 2nd World War uniforms, carries the "Bokken"[wooden sword] and rides bikes. To the japanese it's "cool", to Americans it's stupid.
Oh, the Japanese are hard to accept foreigners into their society. In my second hometown, "Yokohama", there used to be an American Navy base. Well, loads of people there are half Americans. The ones that looks Japanese are quite accepted, the ones who don't, like half-black, are thrown out of society due to their strange appearance. I was treated quite well in my childhood, but there were children who treated quite badly, e.g. the Japanese children would throw rocks at the half-black children. Plus, the American Navy base denied any connection with the half-japanese children, so many were left with their "Japanese" families, and were treated quite badly, much like the family dog or servant.
Due to the Atomic-bomb dropped in Japan, many Japanese hates the Americans, especially the ones who had families in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Many children thus were taught to hate the Americans, but it's not so common now, but the hatred is still there.
The Japanese culture is hard to understand and it's even harder to accept some quer perspective of the Japanese, but if you want to love Japan, it's your choice. I don't expect you to be "welcomed" into the Japanese society that easily especially if you're of white ancestry but there's hope now that the Japanese has become more open.
-Taison! out
To be honest, what you are doing is called "hijacking" but as always I'm here to help. Don't expect me teaching you anything online, cuz without a teacher who knows how to do it, it won't work cuz it'll be mostly theory and trying a technique in the battle field is the dumbest thing a warrior can do.
My best advice is, if they are "mugging" you, just give them you money and tell them "I don't want any troubles, ok?" and walk away. WALK away, don't run, don't jog or do it fast, walk slowly and they won't bother you.
As for the people who ambushes you alot, well, every great warrior knows that strength comes in number. Don't walk alone, bring a lot of friends if you need to get out, or better yet, don't go out when it's dark.
Reading your post again, I do have an advice when facing multiple opponents I learnt from my cross-training, uh, sparring with a nearby Hapkido Dojang. When you put your opponent into a clinch and proceed to knee, I suggest that you throw him into a different direction every 3 knee, much like a tornado. When you do this correctly, it will be harder for your opponent to reach you because your victim is inbetween you and the third assailant. It sounds nice, but it has its flaws. It may not work, thus I don't recommend trying this in battle unless you're confident.
As for a quick knockout? the legendary foul tactic that every tournament has banned, the groin kick. Use it. Doesn't require a lot of energy, nor skill for it to be efficient.
Another advice for you is to scroll up the page a bit and you'll see some guy who posted some rules about fighting, which is fairly accurate.
Next time, plz make a different thread, don't hijack this thread.
Thanks for the sarcasm, unforgetto. I'm talking about one of my dearest friends. He's been there for me a lot of times, mostly financially. Me? I don't need to reduce any weights, i'm happy like I am.
Oh, for the rest of you, thanks for the advices. I got him up on a treadmill I bought [with his money] and he successfully did, uh, 5 minutes. And, I got him on a healthy diet, well, uh, chinese food.
Anyway, it was a good start.
Well, a friend of mine wants to lose a lot of fat quickly and sadly, I'm unable to help him cuz he wants to lose as much fat as possible within 12 weeks, the reasons are unknown. He's one of those hotheaded guys that gets pissed with too much exercise and he doesn't want any muscles, he just want to get a lot thinner. I think he weights around 91 kilos[188 pounds], and wanna reduce to 65-70 kilos[155 pounds?].
All I know about his home area is that there's no gym, so he'll have to rely on cardio exercises, I believe. So any suggestion on how he should run, jog or walk?
Also, he told me that he can only run 5:00 - 6:00 in the morning and like 20:00 in the evening cuz he studies and does part time works but knowing him personally, he gets bored with exercises quite quickly, so if it bores him, he'll stop.
Oh, he told me, no supplements.
I'm having a big headache, I have no idea on how to help him nor do I see any hopes of him losing anything within 12 weeks, especially with his attitude of "quit if it bores". I think he need more endurance, so anyone knows how to gradually build up stamina and endurance?
Personally, I'll tell him along the lines: "run 10 kilometers each day and do half an hours of rope skipping and you're fine" but I doubt he'll do anything near that maybe "30 seconds of running and 5 jumps with the ropes". Oh, he eats like a horse, any suggestions on making him eat less? I told him to eat 5-7 times a day, and he does, now 5 big meals a day.
ps. . I need a shrink, some type of people are hard to handle with especially this friend.
