my wife is having issues with bra sizes. for the longest time she wore a 34B (since high school). she normally wore the soft type bras with or without undewire (originally with, now without). then she decided she wanted to get a pushup bra and went the VS and all the other common bra shops and every one of them resulted in a space inside the bra... the only thing pushed up or out was the bra, not her breasts. she tried a 36A and it seemed not quite right. after trying on many sizes and styles, nothing seemed to work and now she's back to just using the soft bras for the most part.so her measurements are 30.5" under the breast and 34.5" across the breast. we're pretty certain they are measured properly (based on diagrams we found online on how to do it).so, we found online from several places how to calculate bra/cup size and they said the same thing. do this:take 30.5" + 5" and round up to the next nearest even #, which is 36". that is the bra size. now take 34.5"-36" and that is the cup size (where 1=A i think). well, that is -1.5 so what the heck does that mean???? so, she used 36A, but still not quite right.and she has boobs... there is no question. she's not flat like a board, she has something there.

Bra size seems very wrong
-
Take the 30.5 away from the 34.5, that will give you the correct cup size (1=aa, 2=a, 3=b. 4=c etc), then turn the 30.5 to 36 band and you will have the correct size
-
why doesnt she just get measured in one of the bra shops? its quick and easy
-
so that means 36C?
-
Just what i was going to say, a fitting is the only way to get a bra that properly fits
-
I have only had a fitting once and the woman was meant to be a trained professional.. she got my bra size wrong and I've never trusted them again!
-
did you go back and slap her in the face with the bra she sized you for hon LOLMy fitting was excellent hopefully your experience was a one off.
-
I did consider it hon Maybe I just had a dense person doing my fitting, maybe fitting really is the way to go...!!
-
I have this mental image of you strangling a woman in a cubicle with your bra laffin

Well my wife just takes her breasts out of the box and looks to see that they fill up the space. Seems to work here. The heavier ones need more space than the lighter ones though. For everyday she just doesn't wear them at all. (Sorry, I couldn't resist. I know it isn't helpful.)

Your wife keeps her breasts in a box?
-
Yep, she has 2 pairs. One that is more gel like. The other set that is lighter (just foam). For those curious that cannot figure out what I am talking about. My wife has had a double mastectomy. Luckily we had it done before cancer developed, after many many surgeries for pre-cancerous lumps. Then we went thru reconstruction with breast implants (where we had 2 fail during the process that had to be replaced) and then after about 5 years, we had to have the implants removed because she started swelling up as a reaction to the implants. So, now she keeps her breasts in a box. (4 boxes actually, one for each breast and she has 2 sets.)

My mum does the same, but its just a nipple in a box, she had a single mastectomy......and rebuilt it at the same time with tissue from her stomach..........i would have a double mastectomy in a heartbeat, if my life was in danger, then i could have different breasts for different occasions YAY
