Basically, do girls dig soldiers.I'm going to be joining the Royal Marines within the next 2 years and am wondering if that will help me with my ability to get my end away. Your thoughts? You gotta like a guy in uniform.Mr. Nuts

It wont last long, with all the war going on and junk, especially WW III( its bound to happen)I dont think women changed from 1918 or 1945. When the poor wounded men came back, they didn't get their jobs back, their wives left them to die off in the strees, its why we must pay homage to our Veterans!Good luck on your military career, hope you don't die!

If recognition is the basis of you joining, I think you need to reconsider. It depends on the girl. I would hope you wouldn't go after someone who just wants a soldier, instead of because of who you are otherwise. If you are looking for a long term relationship, it could be a problem. There are marriage counselors for people serving, because a lot of soldier's marriages end up on the rocks, whether the spouse gets so lonely they cheat, or the spouse just can't handle their partner being away, and in danger every day.

I definitly say yes to this one. I dont know if all causse of the uniform it seems like they act different to, like more confident or something. But like serously dont join just to meet girls. I have heard its really hard, and not for everyone. But i know people who are in and love it so much. So its kinda a love or hate thing.

In reply to: But like seriously dont join just to meet girls. I have heard its really hard, and not for everyone. But i know people who are in and love it so much. So its kinda a love or hate thing. I am not joining to meet girls. If you know anything about the Royal Marines then you will know it mainly consists of bloody hard work and naked roll-matt fighting with your colleges (don't ask if you don't know). The Royal Marines is one of the most able regiments in the entire of the UK. It has the longest basic training of 32 weeks (in NATO) and are fcuking good at what they do.Spending months away from women/love ones would certainly lower your standards when it comes to women. You would have anything!Joining the service is the only thing I want to do. I don't want to work in an office, design, retail or pretty much anything. It’s the only thing I can see myself doing. Even if I were a multi-billionaire I would still join. I would get bored.I was just wondering about the "perks" of the job. Also, when you come back you must be randy as fcuk, women seem to find the uncontrollable animal beast a turn on!Mr. Nuts

In reply to:don't ask if you don't know It means that if you KNOW then you will KNOW what I mean. If you DON'T KNOW then DON'T ASK because its a bit on the werid side. In reply to: I don't mean to be smart mouthed You don't need to worry about that. However, just for your amusement.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4475034.stmYou may think its harsh. But whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger.Mr. Nuts

Yeah its rough, but then if you can't cope with that, what will you be like if the enemy gets hold of ya!The Royal Marines are amphibious soldiers who are in the Royal Navy. They live on ships, and branch into all military aspects. Some include mountain warfare where they spend most of their time in Sweden training or somewhere else cold! Here is some info if you carehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_MarinesBoth the Princes are part of the Army, I think Harry joined the Household Cavalry or something. He was actually nicknamed "Forrest Chump" for a low score in one of the mental tests at Sandhurst (our officer cadet academy). William is still there. There are loads of werid initiation rituals and general pissing around because of bored soldiers. That is one of the Royal Marines which was caught. The Princes wouldn't have gone through that.Although they do basically the same job to the Army the Royal Marines are just part of the Navy.So basically arses against the wall and be ready to un-zip your flies at a seconds notice!Royal Marines are one of the toughest regiments to be in within the UK. And interestingly a Royal marine in a frilly pink cocktail dress often looks harder than any soldier in full battle kit and rifle. Their training is a biatch.I was just wondering whether I could rely on a health batch of girls when I came back.Mr. Nuts

So the Royal Marines are basically like the U.S. Marine Corps?
-
Yeah, there would be differences but essential they do roughly the same job. The training would be different due to the needs of each country e.g. the US didn’t have to worry about the crap going on in Northern Ireland.Interestingly though, the US marines actually have a little under double of the ENTIRE British Army. The Royal Marines are VERY small compared to them.Their officer selection (what I am going for) is fcuking tough. They only take something like 60 cadets a year.Mr. Nuts

They're sending Royal Marines into Northern Ireland? Do they think the Irish might have WMDs?

I really hope you are taking the piss. If not buy a paper and read up on current affairs. But the answer is:
No, but when the trouble was going on loads of units were there. If they go there now it will probably be training for "how to deal with terrorist/car bombs" and all that sort for Iraq/Afghanistan. None of that is going on now, I hasten to add. However it is a good place to get some experience and learn everything.
