hey everyone,Ive looked all over webmd and other sites for info on this, and couldnt find anything. Last week, I noticed a small itchy red patch on the shaft of my penis. The "rash" is on the right side of my penis and extends halfway onto the head. It's slightly less than an inch long and is slightly oval shaped. It ithchs like crazy, but doesnt ooze anything like blood, pus or any liquid. It didnt hurt until I took a shower and was carefully drying myself off when I slipped and tore the skin off of the rash. I would compare it to pulling off a scab. Minimal bleeding, I put neosporin on it and it stopped hurting and is now just back to being a red itchy rash. I havent come into contact with any chemicals or anything, and my partner and I are completely clean of any STDs. I noticed the rash on Tuesday, and on Monday I was given oral sex. My best guess is that there was irritation from that act, with teeth maybe getting in the way and perhaps too much vigorous hand using. The thing is, while that was all going on, there was no pain or any discomfort. So am I confused. Does anyone know what this is, or how to get rid of it? Has anyone had this or known someone who has and if so how did they clear it up? I am going to my primary doctor this week, and am going to ask him, but was wondering if I have anything to worry about? Much thanks in advance.

Most skin rashes are due to fungus, so one thing you can try first is anti-fungal cream. The next most likely is a bacterial skin infection. Skin that has been irritated or abraded is more susceptible to attack by fungi or bacteria, and they like the warm moist crotch environment.

i got checked out yesterday and the dr. said it wasnt an STD but it was a fungal infection and recomended that I get some Lamisil. It seems to be working so far. Thanks to all who replied.
