First day of highschool
-
i think u should bring a notebook and a pen, usually on the first day all you do is fillout information papers for each class and as far as clothes, i guess u should wear nice clothes because from my experience everyone buys new clothes for the first day, and also i suggest u get to know some people right away so it wont be a ackward first week or so.
-
just wear a tee-shirt and jean's for the first day. you dont want to be catagorized the first day. bring backpack, notebook, paper, all the regular stuff you'd need. the school will prob. send you a list of school supplies. be fiendly, and introduce yourself, but dont be overly friendly. people need to come to you.just be yourself. it you get to choose your own seat, dont be in the frint row (ppl will think your a dork) but dont be in the back (ppl will think your a druggie or someone weird) be in the middle. high school is the most judgemental time of your life, so since you dont know anyone you have an advantage. you can be WHOEVER you want to be. if you used to be preppy and all of a sudden you wanna be..skater, then you can because no one knows your past.hope this helped.pm me if ya want

but i should bring a backpack? and btw i dont think were getting books on the first day
-
i would say no, i dont think any1 will judge you if u did not bring it on the first day, i think very little is expoected
-
what about like a binder or somethin (like one of those zipper ones)
-
arent those pretty big like thick, also i would advise for the year to not have a stuffed backpack because from my experience those people get picked on both phyisically and verbally, so the first day just bring a regular notebook, u can use a binder if u want just i would't suggest lugging it around on the first day of school
-
Whoa, dude, first calm down. I had to do the same thing from my middle school to high school last year (in 10th now) where everyone was knew like you said. Really its not that big (to me anyways) and I will try to answer your ? , just cool though. Backpacks, yes and no, you don't really need to bring them on the first day, but you can, though I suggest to bring those small bags like the nike ones. It also depends on the school though. and bring a notebook or easily a few sheets of paper. Nice clothes, um depends, if your going to wear a suit, I would say no what do you mean by nice? casual, yep, casual is normally better, something normal or atleast what you call normal (no offense, don't know if your a wierdo or not) basic stuff is try to make friends on the first day and then you are set for high school, also I guess I should also try to tell you to do good in school and keep grades up and be good and such, but I won't, no point in starting to become a parent oh yeah, I wonder if I should tell you this, luckily I wasn't messed with but freshmen year, look out (that normally depends on the school if you have ot look out)
-
should i bring my lunch on the first day or buy it
-
Well, You can make your own lunch and eat it, buy if your styl hungry. Why does it matter what they tnik about you. be yourself and you dont have to worry about being teased for eating do you?
-
A Pen, red and black. A pencil. A Drafting pencil. A binder and paper, and money to buy the stuff, like textbooks. And a backpack and a lock, for your locker. What classes did you take? For semester 1 and 2?
-
y would u need a red pen or a drafting pencil on the first day? also arent textbooks free, they are free in my state at least
-
They are not free here, i'm not sure about his state/province. You need pencils for some stuff, they wont allow pens. the drafting pencil is usually for English, they last longer.you need a red pen to underline the title and date, and blue pen just to write
-
hey man its fine calm down. I'm going into be a sophmore so its fine i went threw with it everyone does. once you get past the first day youll be fine. just wear what you normally wear bring some pencils paper all the normal stuff. good luck

High school isn't that much different that Middle School, except you are a freshman now, so shut up and move out of the way when upper classmen go by. That's about it.
We ALWAYS get our books the first day... I bring a backpack. And nobody really cares if that kid brought a backpack and that one didn't... It's a backpack, for pete's sake, not a machete!
Bring a notebook, and a pencil, and maybe some of those stretchy bookcovers.
Wear nicer casual... Jeans, a tshirt or polo without wrinkles or stains or holes... You should be good.

i dunno about ur school but in mine there is no freshman fridays and no1 picks on them, even tho my school is on the top 10 school list for most dangerous in nyc

It's funny you'd say that people with big backpacks get picked on. As I started bringing a backpack everywhere, I found the opposite. I don't actually think it's connected in any way, just a funny point. My backpack is bigger than everyone else's because I need to fit my books, lunch, and track or swim stuff in it. Of course I've heard many times how big my bag is, but it's never been something that has caused me to be picked on.To the original poster:All you need to worry about is bring a good attitude and try talking to people and getting along. It's not really any different from before, except maybe that people might be a little more mature than last year. Obviously the school supplies that were recommended were a good idea, but no need to bring everything you could possible need for the year on the first day. A binder with some paper and a pen/pencil should suffice, unless there was anything else that you were specifically requested to bring. If you usually wear a backpack, bring one - if not, then don't. It's no big deal either way. Oh, personally, I like bringing water with me. Helps to keep hydrated and not suffer from dehydration fatigue which can easily happen when you go 6 hours without water in hot classrooms. If you plan on buying lunch, bring money, if you normally bring lunch then do that. There are really no guidelines, just think what you'll need for the day and what you usually brought to junior high and you'll find that nothing much has changed except perhaps the courses and the people.

Yeah, that is the case most times. Alot of kids don't really get picked on because of the big backpacks, but it tends to make some drift from you can say the coolness level, Like some of my old friends in middle school, which I can say were a bit bi*chy, and well, thehy never picked on most of the kids at our middle school but they would always talk about them for being nerds or geeks, just because of their backpacks because they would probaly have everything needed in that big backpacks of theirs. Only way a guy could be redeemed of being thought of as a geek was if he was on a sports team really. and most of the guys bring another bag like a luggage bag in a way and carry their other small bags on their back. Now admmmitingly, i was one of those types of girls, but not anymore, still though there are those types of girls and guys too who judge everyone on their dressing, social factor, and popularity so I know you cna get nervous thinking about what everyone will think of you if you do this or that, but I guess really just be yourself or else you will lose yourself and you won't like....you.

http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d71/DerikSchaefer/19_1.jpgBuy one of those, make sure it has just one compartment so it isnt big and poofy and wear it like medium to tight so you dont look like a wigger, I personaly would wear it on the first day just so if you do get books you do make a bad first impression by lugging around a bunch of shit with you. As far as binders go: Go to walmart or whereever and get 2 1/2 inch plain like 50 cent binders in good colors so they are nice and sleek instead of a huge nerdy binder and just dress like you normally would, try and get to your class early so you wont have to walk in when everyone is already sitting down because then there might not be any seats left and that is embarresing. Good luck man its really not that big of a deal just ignore the upperclassmen bitching about you guys in the hallway for the first few weeks and pretend like you know where you are going. As far as lunch goes ide either buy it or just not eat. they usually have like a snack cart where you can buy like a gatorrade and like a bag of chips, you dont really want to pack a lunch because thats kind of nerdy and for little kids most of the people go in the quad and just stand with thier little cliqs. If you dont have any friends you should go to the field and play football with the other kids that have no friends even if you dont like football at least you wont be wandering around.Good luck man hope this helps edit cant post images
