First day of highschool
-
y would u need a red pen or a drafting pencil on the first day? also arent textbooks free, they are free in my state at least
-
They are not free here, i'm not sure about his state/province. You need pencils for some stuff, they wont allow pens. the drafting pencil is usually for English, they last longer.you need a red pen to underline the title and date, and blue pen just to write
-
hey man its fine calm down. I'm going into be a sophmore so its fine i went threw with it everyone does. once you get past the first day youll be fine. just wear what you normally wear bring some pencils paper all the normal stuff. good luck

High school isn't that much different that Middle School, except you are a freshman now, so shut up and move out of the way when upper classmen go by. That's about it.
We ALWAYS get our books the first day... I bring a backpack. And nobody really cares if that kid brought a backpack and that one didn't... It's a backpack, for pete's sake, not a machete!
Bring a notebook, and a pencil, and maybe some of those stretchy bookcovers.
Wear nicer casual... Jeans, a tshirt or polo without wrinkles or stains or holes... You should be good.

i dunno about ur school but in mine there is no freshman fridays and no1 picks on them, even tho my school is on the top 10 school list for most dangerous in nyc

It's funny you'd say that people with big backpacks get picked on. As I started bringing a backpack everywhere, I found the opposite. I don't actually think it's connected in any way, just a funny point. My backpack is bigger than everyone else's because I need to fit my books, lunch, and track or swim stuff in it. Of course I've heard many times how big my bag is, but it's never been something that has caused me to be picked on.To the original poster:All you need to worry about is bring a good attitude and try talking to people and getting along. It's not really any different from before, except maybe that people might be a little more mature than last year. Obviously the school supplies that were recommended were a good idea, but no need to bring everything you could possible need for the year on the first day. A binder with some paper and a pen/pencil should suffice, unless there was anything else that you were specifically requested to bring. If you usually wear a backpack, bring one - if not, then don't. It's no big deal either way. Oh, personally, I like bringing water with me. Helps to keep hydrated and not suffer from dehydration fatigue which can easily happen when you go 6 hours without water in hot classrooms. If you plan on buying lunch, bring money, if you normally bring lunch then do that. There are really no guidelines, just think what you'll need for the day and what you usually brought to junior high and you'll find that nothing much has changed except perhaps the courses and the people.

Yeah, that is the case most times. Alot of kids don't really get picked on because of the big backpacks, but it tends to make some drift from you can say the coolness level, Like some of my old friends in middle school, which I can say were a bit bi*chy, and well, thehy never picked on most of the kids at our middle school but they would always talk about them for being nerds or geeks, just because of their backpacks because they would probaly have everything needed in that big backpacks of theirs. Only way a guy could be redeemed of being thought of as a geek was if he was on a sports team really. and most of the guys bring another bag like a luggage bag in a way and carry their other small bags on their back. Now admmmitingly, i was one of those types of girls, but not anymore, still though there are those types of girls and guys too who judge everyone on their dressing, social factor, and popularity so I know you cna get nervous thinking about what everyone will think of you if you do this or that, but I guess really just be yourself or else you will lose yourself and you won't like....you.

http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d71/DerikSchaefer/19_1.jpgBuy one of those, make sure it has just one compartment so it isnt big and poofy and wear it like medium to tight so you dont look like a wigger, I personaly would wear it on the first day just so if you do get books you do make a bad first impression by lugging around a bunch of shit with you. As far as binders go: Go to walmart or whereever and get 2 1/2 inch plain like 50 cent binders in good colors so they are nice and sleek instead of a huge nerdy binder and just dress like you normally would, try and get to your class early so you wont have to walk in when everyone is already sitting down because then there might not be any seats left and that is embarresing. Good luck man its really not that big of a deal just ignore the upperclassmen bitching about you guys in the hallway for the first few weeks and pretend like you know where you are going. As far as lunch goes ide either buy it or just not eat. they usually have like a snack cart where you can buy like a gatorrade and like a bag of chips, you dont really want to pack a lunch because thats kind of nerdy and for little kids most of the people go in the quad and just stand with thier little cliqs. If you dont have any friends you should go to the field and play football with the other kids that have no friends even if you dont like football at least you wont be wandering around.Good luck man hope this helps edit cant post images

Englands so unfair We have to wear uniform

best to not bring a backpack on the first day and see if everyone else does. other than that, be assertive. dont be scared to try and make friends. because the friends you pick now will change the rest of your school career. good luck!

look for all the hot guys.
-
umm he is a guy?
-
Dude, it doesnt matter what you do or bring. just do what you want to do. no one really cares, shit i lost all my stuff the first day and i had to carry all my papers i had to sign in my back pocket and returned them the next day. no one cares... also its better to bring some food from home cus food at high school is expensive and taste bad, cept chips or drinks.
