Ok, I can't say I know if this is normal, but well yesterday me and my friend were on the phone playing truth or dare (his house is right across from my house, so we could see the dares) and well we were getting bored with truth and decided to do dare. Its around 11 pm at night and he dared me to run down the street completely naked. Now I didn't want to do it, but then again i hate not doing dares and well I decided to do it, being a bit worried about someone catching me like my brother since he wasnt even home yet and he normally gets home around 11, 11:30 and well, I still decide to do it. So I stripped inside my house and went through the back sliding door, leaving it half open so I could get back in or run if someone might come, I really know it was stupid, but i thought what harm would it be to do this dare. so i did it and i was outside going ot the front of my house and my friend staring at me running completing the dare, it kind of felt good actually, the wind and all. well then I did it and went back to the house. Going to the sliding door and all of a sudden i see something. I wish I wasnt so curious, but I was and went to look at it. It was a bit yellow with some dots and pretty long and in a corner of my house. so I was coming closer and stepped on it and I was shocked it was a snake. I fell and I really thought it was going to attack me and it kind of jumped at me, but I was running off the ground before it kept me down and into the sliding door, I was seriousley barely able to breathe. I got in and told my friend I had to go and hung up and well I was shaking. It could have been worse, it could of bit me or something, but it really shook me up and I am really creeped out. I don't know if I should tell my parents or someone about it, but everytime I think about it I get scared and I never felt like that before. My parents keep asking me why I am shaking and all, they know something is bothering me, but I really dont want to talk about the dare. What should I do?

Don't know what to do...

Wow, that must have been scary. Even though you weren't completely attacked by the snake, maybe it kind of had a traumatizing effect on you of some sort? You should also tell your parents about it or maybe a friend, it might help you to vent. It is so wierd, about two years ago my dad was moving sutff in our garage and a snake attacked him. Police were there and everything. He didn't seem to be freaked out by it though, maybe you can deal better as you get older, hopefully.

It's a shock when something like that happens - I know I got a shock when I saw once a poisonous snake right under my foot that I was about to step on - and the effect is greater because you were in a heightened emotional state at the time. You can tell your parents about the snake without mentioning what you were doing at the time. Just tell them it gave you a big shock that has upset you.
