Man oh man.
I'm 17 and I want to know how to stop being addicted to porn.
I mean its Really interfering with my life at the moment as I've had major exams this past month and instead of devoting my weekends to revision so that i can pass my frickin exams to get into uni, instead at every oppourtunity i procrastinate and go on the internet for "work".(I.e porn)
Seriously a major amount of time is being wasted here, and I just can't seem to stop going on porn!
HELP!
(if i don't reply in the next few days then _maybe _this means i've kept off the porn n order to knuckle down)

Really Bad Porn addiction

Yeah i had the same problem before. What i did was put a parental block on my internet for myself so i wouldnt go on porn sites. And i also just tried to stay away from the computer as much as possible.

i have a slightly similar problem, I don't quite see myself as Addicted only because it's not so extreme that it is interfearing with my day to day functions. More so the content is bothering me; and the pleasure one get's out of looking at it is usually only temporary. What i have been trying to do is create a list of reasons why it is a bad idea to continue the habbit. Very importantly, give yourself a strong rational argument as to why giving into the urge is a bad idea. Basically...1) Make a clear and established message that it is your intention to end the habit.2) Denounce any attempt at rationalization, as IRRATIONAL and the attempt of the habit to reroute itself in your mind. [Aka, the manifestation of evil :P] 3) provide strong reasoning as to why the removal of the habit is a good thing, and perhaps consider backing up positive progression away from the habit with a physical treat. [Ex; A nice dinner every consistent month that you stay on track] You may even want to do it in writing. and let me know if this helps, and tell me if it does. Having the same problem, it might benefit more than 1 person. Also consider finding ways to block the website from your computer.

I used to have the same addiction, and problem... but eventually, I was just like, nope I'm not going to look at it anymore, and now its not really problem. Before I would look at it every chance I got, but now it's maybe 1-2 times a week, usually not at all though. So my solution just say to yourself "no I don't need this, I can live without it.".

Vista is EVIL.

I uninstall all my internet browser if I'm having an issue like this. But I keep the Dictionary, Word Book, and Wikipedia applications all on my computer. So that way I can study and do research, but I can't go off and play flash games, post to internet boards, or surf porn.Oh, before you uninstall your internet browser... I should tell you that the way to get it back is go through the restore disks that should have come with your computer.

Sadly, the only real way to stop consuming porn is through strict discipline. You've already made the most important step, admitting that you're addicted to porn, so you're off to a good start. It took me three years to admit that I was addicted myself. I used to tell myself that it wasn't so bad and that I was like many other guys doing it too, while in reality I would waste over two hours every single night masturbating to porn, which lead to lost sleep and me lacking energy while at work during the day.Pornography is also a self-sustaining addiction; the more you look at porn, the less effect it has on you and the more you need as a result. On several occasions over the last year, I would delete all the comics, pictures and movies on my hard drive except for a select few that I wasn't ready to get rid of, and what do you know, I would start collecting some more the very next day. When I finally admitted to myself that I was addicted, I deleted it all, as well as all the bookmarks to sites I used to visit. That was three weeks ago only, but it's a lot easier to ignore the urge already. I know realize that I would turn to porn whenever I was bored as well as every night before going to sleep. Now, when I'm bored I simply start doing something else, preferably something physical to take my mind of it. I still masturbate every day, but it's a much shorter activity now which doesn't take away from my much needed sleep. I've also noticed that my imagination in terms of sex fantasies is much more vivid now that I have to rely on it for stimulation. In short, I don't really miss porn now. True, the temptation is still there, especially when I'm bored or when I start thinking about it, which is why it's important to quickly occupy my mind with something else.Hope you can manage it too. Your life will only be better for it.
