You didn't like the Fox and the hound? Shaaaaame on you. Shame on you >.<

Why are..?
-
actually you might be correct. He might not have had any children. Lemme check, and I'll get back to you on that. ...you are correct pete, no chil'ren. That's my fault. 3 am issues.
-
Its not that I didn't like it, its just the scene where she dumps the fox out in the middle of nowhere... that scene scarred me for life! I didn't cry when Bambi's mum died or when Mufasa died, but that made me cry!
-
I've noticed that too. In quite a few movies good ole disney has someone dying. I wonder why? Trying to teach life lessons while not directly showing gore? But as far as "evil" people are concerned. I honestly don't know why mankind or even just a handful of powerful people deem it necessary to induce suffering on their fellow (wo)man. I guess it's excess of power. I can't say for sure. Sometimes it seems the more powerful a person becomes, the more she/he seems to abuse. Human nature? Leader of the pack? No idea. Just take a look at the Bush thread. That has a nice debate going on right now. He may not stack up against someone like Dahmer, but then again, evil can be a relative term to the area and situation.
-
No, they are trying to scar young children for life. And it works, just look at all the adults around the world who still can't stand watching some of those movies without bursting into tears.
Disney is evil.
-
That's my favorite disney movie >.< my old friend and I would sing that "best of friends" song... little did we know we'd stop tlaking =/ i'm trying to fix that though.
disney = sad

If you're the cause of thousands of deaths among innocent men, women, and children I don't care if you built an entire country on your own with your bare hands you are NO great man. just his deeds alone as a dicator and leader of the Nazis leaves all "good" he's ever done unnoticed and uncared for in my opinion. not to come off rude, I have mentioned in all of my papers that despite how cruel they may have been, there's a little humanity in all of them. but it's still sickening

Attempting the elimination of any particular segment of society based on ethnicity, race or religeon is called genocide. It didn't matter what Hitler was.
-
'I know not; am I my brother's keeper?'
Cain and Abel. The first murder according to Genesis 4:9. If you believe in this story, then your answer lies within it. Also Eve blatantly defying God and eating the apple, that was evil. Now we all have to wear clothes everywhere we go. Damn.

And then I got a couple of my papers in the mail that for my history class the past year we did it on infamous people. Where's the pleasure in killing someone? What can you possibly gain from trying to wipe out an entire race, religion, or group of people? Is man really that prideful and power-hungry? I just wanted to know what you guys thought.
And please don't turn this into something it shouldn't be. I know that 90% of this board is anti-Christian which I've learned to accept but I'm asking you nicely to just please don't do what I know you planned to. please? thanks.
Sad thing is, it's the human race that's gonna make this world die. Not Global Warming or any of that bullshit ;-)

I think it's all relative, as far as "evil" is concerned. Just like terrorism, it depends on what side you look at it from. terrorism: 1. the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp. for political purposes. --dictionary.com. Number one definition. Now, I'm not unpatriotic, and the military has my full support. My mother just retired from 24 years of service last Jan., but like I said, it's relative to the circumstance. We see it as our men and women doing their duties and helping a nation to establish a democracy and to rid the country of dictatorship and tyranny. But to some (like the owners of the residence we smash into to find said terrorists) it may be viewed as terrorism as well. Quote:If you're the cause of thousands of deaths among innocent men, women, and children I don't care if you built an entire country on your own with your bare hands you are NO great man. just his deeds alone as a dicator and leader of the Nazis leaves all "good" he's ever done unnoticed and uncared for in my opinion.Don't worry you aren't being rude, I completely agree, Hitler was and Evil man. But evil men, can still do great things. I don't condone his genocidal teachings and doings -- they are some of the worst things I believe can be done to anybody. But if one says killing a mass amount of people, innoncent people, just labels them as evil, then on that list you have to put President Truman, as well as the developers of atomic theory that led to the development of the Atomic bomb.
-
The only extrodonary thing he ever did was kill millions of people. Great things are good extrodinary things that someone accomplished. He didn't do great things. Fuck him, and Fuck you for borderline defending him.
With that said, I'm out of this thread. I don't care if you say "i wasn't defending him, only pointing out bla bla bla" I don't give a shit.

I agree with Java completely.
-
That's too bad. Can't even have a discussion without personal emotions running. I can see where Java would get mad. It's just disheartening that a "discussion" can't even happen without personal feelings getting hurt. I understand personal feelings tend to sway ones mind on a certain topic -- that's perfectly acceptable.

fox and the hound....... i can only remeber two things aboutthat cartoon and both of them made me cry when i was little... one of them bon already said (mean cartoon woman!) and that mean man..not letting the fox and the dog be friends and making him hunt the fox down....... yea.. and then there was that cliff or somthing one of them feel off of. evil people..... i dk why people are evil. maybe there on power trips or somthing I dk why religion would be brought into this… I mean Christian / religion or not ..there are evil people.

It's not an easy question to answer. What makes a person evil? What makes a person good? Perhaps the answers to both of these questions have a lot in common. The more general question I'm going to address is "What makes a person who they are?" (I use the word "makes" for lack of a better word at the moment.)We can all come up with our theories. Here's mine:Generally, people are who they are because of what they experience. Evil, good, religious, non-religious, biase, etc. The funny thing is even if people go through the same situation (even the same events for that matter) it doesn't necessarily mean that they got the same experience out of it. That's what makes each of us unique.I can sit here and I can ask myself, "Why am I not Christian?" The general answer would be because my experiences have brought me to conclusion that Christianity is not the religion for me. I can go into specifics, but I can't really say that the particular reason being discussed is the reason for me not being Christian. I can say, "I didn't go to church throughout my childhood and that's why I'm not Chrisitian" or "I was always taught to look at bible stories as something to be taken as moral lessons instead of literal happenings and that's why I'm not Christian"... But in my opinion these things that I said are both incorrect and correct at the same time. It's probably a part of the reason, but not THE reason.I've never killed someone and I don't see myself doing so unless I'm defending myself or someone I love. This is a part of the reason why I cannot understand what exactly would drive a person to kill so many people... or what would make a person so evil, as you would say. I don't understand it... but in a more general sense, and in accordance with my theory, people do what they do because of their personal experiences in life.

good post websexinfoblackmanoncampus I think you're missing the whole point. and why java's upset personal feelings set aside.
-
And what point is that? That someone who does something -- directly or indirectly -- terrible ie. holocaust, is incapable of doing one good thing? I stated numerous times that he was evil. I was not disputing that. But things that he brought to Germany and to the world (Holocaust aside) were things that we can and DO benefit from. I'm not trying to glorify the Nazi regime, nor Hitler. But you can't look at one thing a person does and dismiss the others. You have to look at it without a myopic point of view. This is the same principal that we (hopefully) use to excuse criminals who have been rehabilitated through our court and prison systems; and please don't compare shoplifting or robbery to the holocaust. I'll throw out one more tidbit in this area to further validate my point that helpful things, helpful being the key word; did in fact come from the Third Reich. Franz H. Mueller. Know who he was? In 1939 (some 15-20 years prior to the surgeon's general doctrine), it was he and few other scientists working FOR the Nazi regime, under Hitler, who made the first link connecting tobacco products, carcinogens, and lung cancer. It was because of this that Hitler banned smoking in certain places and on certain public modes of transportation. I don't think anyone can say that we didn't benefit from that knowledge. Want to know more:http://www.adl.org/Braun/dim_14_1_nazi_med.asp I know why Java's upset, and I'm sorry for the terrible things that happened to her family. It's not anything I'd wish upon ANYONE -- regardless of my personal feelings toward them. I'm not trying to say that what happened wasn't evil; all I'm saying is that no matter how evil someone may be, they can still do great things whether you're affected directly or indirectly by said extraordinary acts.

It is sad. His own father was Jewish I believe. I think you noted that earlier in the thread, A.W. Ironically, he was trying to create a superior race of blue eyed, blonde haired people. Even though he, himself was brown eyed, brown haired. But getting back on subject as why some people are evil. I have to agree with, I believe, websexinfo. I believe it deals with your upbringing, the situation you evolved from, or even in some cases just mental instability. I'll refer back to Jeffrey Dahmer. While on trial he showed no remorse even after seeing his own work (horrific pictures of bodies). I read he was somewhat more amazed with the pictures as if they were something -- for lack of a better word -- beautiful. Same with John W. Gacy, David Berkowitz (son of sam), J. Lee Malvo and John Mohammed, and the zodiac killer. But to tie back to the circumstances surrounding one's life, I think one of the better examples would be Aileen Wuornos. Strange, as I'm typing this there's also a program on television (History Channel) about Vlad Tepesch a.k.a. Vlad the Impaler a.k.a. Dracula.
