Ok, so there's a girl I really like...she's smart, funny, intelligent, attractive, NOT a whore. Every guy's dream, right? Well, we got to talking last night, and I sorta brought up the topic of going out (I'm not at liberty to tell exactly what was said, for her sake and mine), and she basically said that "Cupid has her heart in custody". She had been in a pretty serious relationship with another guy for several years, and found about about a year or half a year ago that he had been cheating on her for a while. Her opinion of love now is....really bitter, to be quaint. "Love can only bring you pain, etc." I'm afraid that she's given up on things. I did my damndest last night to try and tell her that love is so much more than that, and she said I made her feel a little better, but I'm not really that sure.
Anyone have any advice I can give her to convince her otherwise? I don't want to just stop talking to her or "give her (too much) space", because I want her to see that I do like her.
Help!
