So ive kinda had problems since I was a child with getting constipated. I've been able to manage it for the most part but now since like 2013 I've had some paranoia that if I felt like I havnt shit properly for the day that the poop is stuck in there. And if i eat after I already know I have compact stool in my intestine. And then i take a laxative or something to help the flow. I think sometimes the laxative just takes out the newer non compact poo and leaves the stuck shit in there! How do you know. Is it possible new pool can go around the old poo and exit? What happens to that old stuff? Is it even possible to turn hard shit soft? I do detox regularly and eat pretty healthy. But I've always just wondered what the case is for this scenario. Someone please help!

Constipated and laxatives

Welcome to A2A, beewee112.
Most laxatives aren't a good thing to take regularly, because the bowel muscles tend to get flabby. If you have trouble with constipation, it is much better to increase the fibre in your diet. Lots of fibre will give you bowel motions that move through well, neither too hard nor too soft.
It's not uncommon for people to feel that there is compacted faecal matter stuck in their rectum. A doctor can easily check this with a colonoscope. Nearly always it turns out there is nothing there--the anxiety about it has led to the feeling. That doesn't mean there is nothing to treat, but it does mean that the treatment is different.
