How to register for the special forces?
-
You have to register for the draft, euphemistically called the "Selective Service." Here's the website: www.sss.gov
-
Is that still required? Technically speaking I hear there's no forced draft anymore.
-
You still have to register/sign up however you wanna call it.
-
As far as I know, males still have to register for the selective service. As a de facto matter, the draft is likely to never happen again, but it still exists.
-
Yup. I had to submit my Selective Service Number so I could get the financial aid in Georgia called Hope Scholarship.

I think he's confusing the term "special forces" with military/armed forces. ejack.. special forces are an elite division of each armed force.Way way back, when they reinstituted the selective service, I turned 18 when the law took effect. I registered at the post office. Can you still do it there?
-
i was asking about the once you turn 18 yrs old you gotta register for any service within 30 days but um anyways thanks
-
i dont want to join any thing i was just wondering cause i heard its required when your 19 years old. so i just wanted to register thats all

You don't register for a "service". You register with the government and you get a number. In the event that a war breaks out and they decide that they need to draft people for the military, they would pull from the pool of numbers and call you into service that way. The link given above lets you register online or you can go to your local post office for a form.
