Hey, when my girlfriend and I have sex, she says it hurts her. We both were our firsts, but we've had sex several times afterwards. We both lost our virginity to each other a while ago, why is she still experiencing pain? We both know we don't have STDs.

Girlfriend experiences pain during sex.

There could be a few things. Being new at this she could be tense or nervous still and that tension there could create some pain/discomfort. Not sure about your size (and not asking) but that could play a role here. Also, if you're thrusting deep or if she isn't really lubricated, that could cause some pain as well. Basically the two of you have to just communicate...let her tell you when she's feeling discomfort...during or after? If it's during...maybe try her on top, then she controls thrust, depth etc...and for you it can be quite fun as well!

Sometimes pain during intercourse can also be from possible infections, endometriosis, etc. But, in your case that's probably not it. It takes a while to get used to sex. It can be painful for a while for the girl. Like the other reply, just communicate with her. If the pain persists for much longer, have her go see a gynecologist to see if there is something else going on.

For some girls it never hurts. For others it's just the first time, and some it hurts after quite a number of times. Like the other post said, try her on top so she can control everything. Also, make sure she's lubed up nicely. If not, then use something like Vaseline (petrolium jelly.) It's pretty much the best lube you'll ever find unless you get something specificly made for sexual lubrication. If it goes on after a great number of sexual encounters, she should see a doctor. Although I'm sure she'll be over it eventually. It'll just take some time.Good luck.

In reply to: use something like Vaseline (petrolium jelly.) It's pretty much the best lube you'll ever find NEVER NEVER ever use vaseline with a condom (which you should be using every time you have sex). It will weaken the condom and cause it to fail. Only use water-based lubricants like KY with condoms. Vaseline is one of the WORST THINGS you could use for a sexual lubricant.

Geez.. Vaseline is so sticky that it can trap bacteria in the vagina and cause real problems. Be careful with what you advise ATA. Vaseline is not ideal.

I've only had sex about 7 times in my life and everytime has been incredibly painful, so much so that i've kind of accepted that i'll always have pain. Even if i orgasm before having penetration i still get pain when he enters me and thrusts. My boyfriend is an amazing guy and so considerate to me having a good time, that i get annoyed that i can't be more spontanious with him cos i'm awaiting the pain each time. I can only hope that in time the pain will go.
