Ok Glad I didn't go off on you then! lol

"just tuck it under" doesn't always work?
-
It is offensive that you called the Bible fiction. Kindly don't do it again.
-
it's her opinion, and she's entitled to say it, it's not breaking any rules
-
Stated as a fact - very annoying.
-
the bible a fact?
-
fact or not, i think..it kind of goes against the basis of most modern Christianity? and past Christianity for that matter. so if you look at it beyond what's been said, then isn't it kind of...bashing? and to rewrite the Bible to confrom to modern times, it'd be the same to say we should rewrite the Torah or Koran. which would be saying that some religions themselves should be conformed? so that we discontinue believing in FAITH itself but in current reality. i thought if it could be verified, then we wouldn't need faith. faith is for that which lies on the other side of reason; it makes life bearable. to conform someting like the Bible would mean having to wake up to the truth of reality. it sucks. real faith means putting up with its tragedies, ambiguities, joys, and everything in between. anyways, your call. i've said my bit.oh and look. we've managed to diverge off-topic. joys.
-
i was just saying don't get all mad because someone calls the bible fake
-
oh it's not your fault! sorry if i came off as sort of a hardass!
-
"the Bible a fact?"
you've got me confused now. I never stated that. I said it was offensive when someone voiced the opinion that it was fiction, and the way they said it was "it's only fiction anyway" i.e. they stated that as fact. See? oh, I've got myself even more confused now.
-
sorry, I meant getting mytubes tied, not historectomy. And I know "for a fact" that I wouldn't be able to raise more than three kids to grow up to be well-adjusted healthy adults, that's why we won't have more than three. and about the bible being rewritten, it shouldn't, because it was meant to be absolute. Not that it can't be retranslated into modern english, I'm a big fan of "The Message" but not altered in any way
-
I think the bible is fiction, therefore I state it as such. A great work of fiction no doubt, but still fiction.
-
That's okay that you think it's fiction, cos you can think whatever you like. But you said 'the Bible is fiction' rather than 'I think the Bible is fiction', a la difference.
-
Not really. I don't see any proof that its not a work of fiction. And as so, to refer to the original question- why not rewrite it then? Maybe a movie? It could include aliens & star Arnold Swartzenegger (spelling?). Hmmm, well maybe its a good thing I don't write movie scripts...
-
Who could Arnie play? Hmmm. not many Austrians in the Bible.
