Hi. I grew up in a very closed family when it comes to talking about these kinds of things. No one ever taught me how to clean out my foreskin. I didn't even know I was uncircumcised until my late teens.Well, I've always had redness around the slit in the top of the urethra since before I can remember. The foreskin also used to be red before I started cleaning it. I've been cleaning it out on a daily basis for several months now ever since I learned how important it is. The foreskin has turned my normal skin color, but when I pull it back there is a red part around the slit. It doesn't itch or hurt or anything. I'm wondering if this is normal? I don't do a whole lot of looking at other people's penises. Also, there is a fishy kind of smell that seems to stay with it. Not strong, but noticable. The only time it seems to disappear is right after I've cleaned it. Is this also normal? I'd really like to know, thanks.

Redness at the top of the urethra?

The head part of the penis is usually red (or purplish). Is that what you're seeing, or something more local? The fishy smell is normal.

The whole top is redish/purplish, but there is a redder part directly around the slit. And is the fishy smell normal for just uncircumcised, or for all?

I think if there's no special tenderness there it's probably nothing.Everyone gets a bit of a fishy smell there.

Fishy smell? I think I'm gonna be sick (retches)That "smell" can b from the urine that flows everyday from in it or semen (if u ....u know). Is normal, don't worry
