ok I just heard about the new Loonitix or some shit like that. They are revamping Buggs to make him more edgy and current. blasphemy! Now some people model their lifes after great men, philosophers, religious icons. For me, it's Buggs. All situations can be rectified by a wise crack or a sudden smootch. "this means war"

Buzbunny? WTF
-
I hadn't heard of that. I agree! Blasphemy!
-
what else scares me about the rebranding is music. Part of the original experience was the whimsical treatment of clasical music. Now what? Is it going to be all bling bling hip hop stuff.I dunno! Maybe it'll be like Scooby Doo and go the route of fluff-punk.Either way, it will become dated much quicker than the original. BTW, heres a news release. The concept drawings look cool and all but couldn't they have just invented new characters for the story? Oh ya, that would require extra creativity! Buzz Bunny Goggle "Buzz Bunny", I think WB didn't do their research LOL
-
anyone have a favorite moment in the Loonytoons?
-
ok, I'd hoped this was a dead issue and therefore a dead thread. Supposedly, the concept had been dropped. But now, I'm seeing commercials for the Loonatics comming in the fall season.SACRALAGE!
-
My fav was when Bugs went to the land of the Dodo bird. The "rubber-band" killed me.
-
I hate to burst you bubble Mr. U, but that show has been on TV for at least a year now. My kids watch it on Saturdays. :scream_cat:
I miss the original Bugs. :frowning:
-
In reply to:
I miss the original Bugs.
Who doesn't!? The ones you're kids are watching are the reruns of the 2003 season. some with new episodes. I stopped watching it. Bugs and Daffy
-
First off, Im old, I saw the damned cartoons as a kid, I agree, its a sin to now distort them and make money yet again, they should jsut put them back on the damned air, they were classics, they cant go out of style.as for a favorite moment,do you recall a comp between bugs and daffy?on stage.bugs constantly beats daffy with thunderous greetings from teh audience. Daffy gets pissed and dressed as a adevil walks onto the stage and hes saying 3 parts nitro, 2 parts tnt....shake well...drinks the potion(here is my all time favorite part of it)"Girls, hold onto your boyfriends" raises eyebrows a couple of times and proceeds to smash his ass into the stage blowing himself up.I know they have the video on youtube, I suggest you all go searching for it.If they dont have it, then your missing out, it is my all time favorite episode of the looney toons.
-
Are they insane!I grew up watching that show and it dosen't need to be made edgyWhat crap!
-
Yeah, I'm old enough to remember all the uncensored versions of the catoons. One of my many faves is the hillbillies and Bugs calling the quare dance... I swear I know it nearly word for word.Oh, Thor... porky went to find the last do-do In reply to: I hate to burst you bubble Mr. U, but that show has been on TV for at least a year now. My kids watch it on Saturdays. damn... it's just starting here on TeleToon. Please don't burst anymore of my bubbles baby
-
You're right about the do-do episode Mr. U...do you remember it?I remember Bugs calling the dance with the two hillbillies...I never laughed so hard in my life.

Stop the world I want to get off.As if its not bad enough that Saturday mornings have been stolen by "news-show" junkies and homogenized preteens that worship at the alter of corporate modern Disney. Now they have to take the beloved Looney Tunes, run them through the garbage disposal of contemporary society and turn them into some kind of ill-conceived, modernest, tattoo art, because they're MBA's have left them with, educationally honed, tunnel vision and they're just plain to cheap and stupid to pay for originality. I hope Mel Blanc returns from the grave to hound and haunt who ever came up with this misguided, greed centered, notion, never letting them have a moments peace. I have nothing but pure unadulterated hate for these corporate shills and wish them and they're business models nothing but the most agonizing and gruesome of deaths. And, for the so called artist who have rendered these abominations, may they're minds and fingers cramp in perpetual clouds of pain whenever they are confronted with the true artistry that was the Looney Tunes. As for the writers, may the satirical wit of Warner Brothers past, which they lack the intelligence to replicate, ring in their ears till they bleed and then in their minds after they are deaf. How's that for hate mongering? The idiots should know that it's pure blasphemy to even think that there is any way you can improve on a cross-dressing rabbit. As for my favorites that's to big a list. The one that comes to mind thought is a Silvester. The one with Spike the perpetually tough bulldog and the other little yellow dog who's always jumping up and down sayin' "you and me is pals, right Spike?" and "Spikes my pal." They're tryin' to beat up Silvester but Spike keeps getting beat up by a mountain lion. That was a classic.
-
It's a shame they think they need to improve on a classic! I think it's down right sinful! I grew up watching the Bugs Bunny and Tweety show on Saturday mornings/afternoons (that was the best part of the day!). Why fix something that isn't broken? rolls eyes
-
As long as you don't mess with my cartoons and Sugar Smacks you've got nothing to worry about...
-
.....damnit i hate the majority of shit today, either its some stupid lazy jackassed reality show or some shitty remake god damn,i miss that shit, what happened to actually being creative? and is it just me or do you have to be on acid or crack to make a kids show? hmmm....
-
"do you have to be on acid or crack to make a kids show?"It can't be acid. If it was, the pictures would be a lot more colorful.>>>"what happened to actually being creative?"Didn't your hear it was acquired, along with artistry and production integrity, by Cox Communications in a hostile takeover and vaulted away.Creativity has no place in modern corporate dogma. Inherently, creativity has a certain amount of cost and comes with a certain degree of risk. Neither of which do corporate MBAs like. As long as all of the media overlords produce the same quality of low budget, low brow, crap they will be assured some kind of profit. As long as there is no alternative some segment of society will always buy their substandard product.

would apear that all us "old folks" are in a minority on this. Even my son is excited to see it.Well, I'm off to order some uncensored Loony Tunes DVDs... whirl whirl twist and twirl, jump around like a flying squirril
-
you do know that alot of the looney toons cartoons are available for free on youtube.com right ?its not the high quality that youll get on dvd, but it is uncensored, some fo the 11 banned episodes, and its available NOW for viewing instead of waiting weeks to get teh dvds delivered.I only suggest it for a temporary fix, until they arive.
