Why do I have pubic hair growing from my testicles? Is it uncommon? I thought most people had testicles without hair.

Pubic Hair On Testicles
-
Yes, testicles normally get hair on them, but not thickly: the hairs are usually very spaced apart so they look less hairy than the pubic area.

Actually you have it backwards - most men DO have pubic hair on their scrotum. Hair on the scrotum usually comes in late in puberty, after you've already had quite a bit of pubic hair growing in around the penis.
The hair that grows on the scrotum is actually slightly different than pubic hair - it tends to be more straight (not as curly as pubic hair), its thinner and less course, and is often lighter in color. The purpose of this hair is to help the scrotum regulate the temperature of the testicles better for optimal sperm production. The hair can help retain heat when the scrotum is pulled tight to keep the testicles warm when needed, and the hair can also assist cooling the scrotum by increasing the surface area when the scrotum is loose and hanging low (similar to the way a radiator works).
