Mr. U, how do we shut the arguing up?
-
Room?
-
I have "seen" things that would qualify as that, and what I say is, I do not know. There is no way of knowing, yet, and furthermore I do not have a degree in phenomenon so i cannot say it was something. I mean it is like claiming the sun is made of yellow jello, unfounded and not very smart. I mean too many people now a days aer suddenly becoming experts with out having the least bit of knowledge on the science of the subject.
-
Of course no one knows what they are there for it's "I don't know' but saying you are right and I am wrong is just as ignorant. And since no one knows what they are I'm allowed to have my theories as you are allowed to have yours.I dunno why all the bashing is brought on me just because I believe in something you all do not. Actually sadens me to see the disrespect when I have not disrespected any of you.Since when is it illegal to have my own beliefs and my own theories?
-
You'll have to shut down the Internet, because argument is one of its foundations. It would be funny if IP packets had an argument flag, and you could filter them out. Or you could accept those and filter out everything else. We'll have to send an e-mail to the IPV6 comittee.
-
I respect you, i think your pretty cool. And i respect steve and think he's pretty cool. Actually right now i think everyone is pretty cool except the trolls. So, Comeone now, Everyone lets call it even? Please! lol
-
Soon, your argument will descend into "la la la la I'm not listening"Actually I never resort to that or name calling. It's childish antics.>no name calling here but if this statement were true there would be a hell of a lot of stuff that doesn't work, including this interweb thinggy so any messages you see here are a figment of your imagination. Please don't stop beleiving, I'd hate to suddenly disapearThat statement doesn't exactly work. Because man created the interweb thingy and for the most part we all know how that works. The factual evidence to state that it is here and why it is here. Things that are "supernatural" are things science has yet to prove where or why they happen.. tey just do.>Please don't stop beleiving, I'd hate to suddenly disapearAgain doens't work because you are human, you are scientifically proven to be here. You are flesh and blood and easily studied. PLus We wouldn't want you to disapear =-)

It is not illegal, it is just so unfounded and irrational.
Steve..
I like that idea, although i would the later versions of that filter, so i can finish off all the other arguments. -

I agree we do not know, but no one, with any amount of respect, would call someone who has a different belief in the unknown as irrational or ignorant.
I have never claimed to be an expert of the supernatural. I have studied it a little when in high School to past the time but I do not have a degree in it. BUT I do have my beliefs and theories even if you, or anyone does not agree, they are still my theories.
I respect you all for nto believing in any of it.. I am 100% okay with it. The same respect should be given instead of wanting to start an arguement on "Who's Right and Who's Irrational".
In reply to:

Everyone has a topic that someone can call as irrational. most of the time people call someone irrational when they don't know how to handle the topic or do not know enough knowledge on the topic. Doesn't make that person a bad person, but I think people over use the word irrational.
-
hugs Well i think you're pretty cool as well.I ams orry this turned into another ugly debate. All I wanted to do was give my opinion and my thought on the topic, but some people cannot just let people have their thoughts or ideas. So I appologise that your thread got a bit off topic.
-
Anyway, I am not trying to get down on you, but it just seems funny to me (and other apparently) that supernatural is the first thought. Just seems that science is no longer what it used to be.
-
Well supernatural is a very strong word I agree. Originally I said it might have just be whats called residual energy. It is thought that when something really bad happens in a certain place (like murder or rape etc etc), bad energy (Like Karma) is left behind. Same thing goes when something good happens (like birth for an example). That's all I was trying to say. It could have been nothing at the same time.
-
I understand, now just admit that i am right and you are terribly terribly wrong....lol..joking. It is whatever it is and that is that...discussion over.
-
Of course no one knows what they are there for it's "I don't know' but saying you are right and I am wrong is just as ignorant. And since no one knows what they are I'm allowed to have my theories as you are allowed to have yours.Do you understand the difference between "theory" and "belief"? No. In fact, in a scientific context, do you understand the difference between "theory" and "wild guess"? I doubt it. Do you understand the difference between "irrational" and "ignorant"? Clearly not.> I dunno why all the bashing is brought on me just because I believe in something you all do not. Actually sadens me to see the disrespect when I have not disrespected any of you.I'm a lot more insulted by your disrespect for logic, reason, and science, than if you called me an sshle. If a foreigner who's critical of American education points to your postings, what can I say? That some Americans actually are educated? You put me in a difficult position.> Since when is it illegal to have my own beliefs and my own theories? It's not illegal; it's ignorant. The people who lived a thousand years ago and believed that the Earth is flat and at the center of the universe were not doing anything illegal, but they were ignorant. Just because science (at least in some areas) hadn't yet demomstrated the contrary didn't mean that their beliefs were not false. They were wrong, no matter how comforting their ideas were. The same goes for bleeding people to cure illnesses.Given the state of knowledge today, there is no excuse for a lot of contemporary common beliefs that many accept as facts. Not all "theories" deserve to be promoted to beliefs, and not all beliefs are worthy of respect.

Good lord!!!>Do you understand the difference between "theory" and "belief"? No. In fact, in a scientific context, do you understand the difference between "theory" and "wild guess"? I doubt it. Do you understand the difference between "irrational" and "ignorant"? Clearly not.DO NOT try and tell me what I do and do not now. Again goes to show how IGNORANTE you are. It's funny everyone wanted to come bash me when I was giving my opinion without having to bash someone.. but when you do it no one says a damned word. Do you not realize how ignorant you come off, not to mention arrogant that you simply just think you know everything?? Get off your high horse Steve, lord knows you have no right to sit there.>I'm a lot more insulted by your disrespect for logic, reason, and science, than if you called me an sshle. If a foreigner who's critical of American education points to your postings, what can I say? That some Americans actually are educated? You put me in a difficult position. There is nothing uneducated about my post. My theories and opinions are just that.. mine. You don't have to like them, but reguardless does not give you the permission to act ignorant and calling it irrational when you have no factually information to back up that my theories and opinons are wrong.>It's not illegal; it's ignorant. The same goes for bleeding people to cure illnesses.First off it's not ignorant.. get that through your head. Secondly people though the world was flate because they had no other information to go on. Many years later it was determained that the earth was rough.. there for the original theory was destroyed and fact was set into place. Until the day comes they can disprove residual energies or anything supernatural I will continue to belive my theories and opinions. Also science does not have all the answers. I am not saying science is false, but at the same time science cannot say I am false. Are you even close to getting the point Steve?>Given the state of knowledge today, there is no excuse for a lot of contemporary common beliefs that many accept as facts. Not all "theories" deserve to be promoted to beliefs, and not all beliefs are worthy of respect. Thats your opinion Steve, that's not fact. Just because we are a "high tech" society does not mean people cannot have their own beliefs and theories. No matter how society changes or becomes more advanced, people will have their own theories and beliefs.. which I personally feel thats a good thing!! Who wants a society where everyone thinks the same?? Now thats boring.
-
LOL! I shall never surrender!! hehe And I am all for this "discussion" to be over. But As long as Steve continues bashing me and calling names in a childish mannor I will continue to defend myself. Sorry
-
Well steve does bring up good points. I mean there are differences, i mean just answer him do you or don't you, i think that will shut him up.
-
I dont think it will, they both need to have the last word
-
reguardless I think good points were brought up on both sides. I like a good discussion.. but when name calling is brought in and bashing someones character is started.. than it because hurtful and no longer fun.
-
Agreed. Steve, just out of curiousity, have you ever experienced anything that you were unable to explain?
-
name calling...now this sounds just childish.
